This past Thursday, BOLD volunteers had the honor of attending Montefiore Einstein’s Annual Volunteer Recognition Event. It was a beautiful and heartfelt evening celebrating the incredible contributions of not only our BOLD volunteers, but all those who dedicate their time and compassion to the Montefiore Einstein community. We are truly grateful- our work would not be possible without you.

During the event, we also honored the life and legacy of BOLD Buddy Shirley Johnson through a touching memorial tribute. It was a privilege to present her daughter, Regina Renee Russell, with a token of our appreciation in recognition of Shirley’s lasting impact.

Thank you to the Volunteer and Student Services team for hosting such a meaningful and memorable evening, and for the heartfelt tribute to Shirley.

And to our amazing BOLD volunteers- thank you for all that you do. From supporting behind the scenes to providing care and comfort to our patients, your dedication makes a difference every single day.

We look forward to continuing this work together and building on the impact you make in the Bronx community.

We are excited to introduce Jeremy Ayala, M.S., who joins us as BOLD Project Manager of Cancer Outreach & Wellness Initiatives!

Jeremy specializes in project management where he is dedicated to ensuring that BOLD’s initiatives are executed with both operational excellence and a deep respect for the people they serve. A lifelong Bronx resident and bilingual professional, Jeremy is deeply invested in the health, wellness, and resilience of his local community. His work is fueled by a passion for social justice and a commitment to creating equitable access to healthcare and supportive services. His primary goal is to ensure that every individual navigating a cancer journey feels empowered, seen, and fully supported by the resources available to them. Please help us welcome him!

Please join us for the Community Award Unifying Unity Breakfast on June 6th (9 AM-12 PM), sponsored by the Avril Show Cancer Foundation. This special event uplifts and supports individuals living with and impacted by cancer in the Bronx, while helping fund programs like BOLD!
