Gut bacteria species associated with Multiple Sclerosis. ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
https://www.facebook.com/share/1CyJpcJztV/?mibextid=wwXIfr
๐ง ๐ฌ Experts just identified the gut bacteria that triggers multiple sclerosis.
Conducted by scientists at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, the study uniquely controlled for genetic and environmental variables by examining genetically identical siblings.
In a major scientific breakthrough, researchers studying 81 pairs of identical twinsโwhere only one sibling had multiple sclerosis (MS)โhave pinpointed two specific strains of gut bacteria that appear to trigger the disease.
The researchers identified Eisenbergiella tayi and Lachnoclostridium, which were significantly more prevalent in the siblings with MS. When these gut microbes were introduced to mouse models, they directly triggered MS-like symptoms, showcasing a functional link between the microbiome and autoimmune disease.
This discovery marks the most precise identification of MS-related bacterial triggers to date, offering compelling evidence for the gut-brain axis in chronic autoimmune disorders. While further human clinical trials are essential, the findings open transformative possibilities for early detection and therapy. By specifically targeting or modifying these gut bacteria, future medical treatments could potentially slow, halt, or even prevent the onset of MS entirely before symptoms emerge.

๐๐ฝ 2000 IU of daily vit D3 intake.
https://www.facebook.com/share/1DydKKHADL/?mibextid=wwXIfr
A new Harvard-led study suggests that vitamin D supplementation may slow biological aging at the cellular level. Researchers found that adults who took 2,000 IU of vitamin D3 daily experienced significantly less telomere shortening over four years compared to those taking a placebo. Telomeres are protective caps on chromosomes that naturally erode with age and are linked to inflammation, cancer, and heart disease when they become too short.
The findings come from a sub-study of the large randomized VITAL trial, which followed over 1,000 adults aged 50 and older. Telomere length was measured at the start of the study and again at years two and four. Participants taking vitamin D showed telomere preservation equivalent to nearly three fewer years of biological aging. Omega-3 supplements, also tested, showed no measurable effect.
Researchers emphasize this does not mean vitamin D is an anti-aging cure, but it strengthens evidence that vitamin D supports healthier aging by reducing inflammation and protecting cellular function. Because vitamin D is low-cost and widely accessible, the results point toward a potential population-level strategy to support long-term health as people age.
