Acne is always an important topic to talk about and the different types of acne. Black heads are like icebergs, you see the head of it, the tip at the surface but what lays underneath the skin is so much bigger and that is what is doing the most damage to the skin. Popping and extracting acne properly is what prevents skin damage, skin scarring, bad habits. Developing good consistent habits is what prevents skin damage and having to do corrective skin procedures #aesthetic

I don’t know if I can ever say this loud enough and often enough. I constantly hear “I’m not going outside today” or “I’m just running a few errands” or “it’s super cloudy, I can’t even see the sun.” Sunscreen is a everyday accessory for your face. I know people love looking tan and bronzed because they think it makes them look healthier and more vibrant but skin cancer negates all of those reasons. If you need to be tanned and bronzed go see my girl for an amazing spray tan. Sunscreen in makeup or powder doesn’t count at sunscreen either, a pea size doesn’t work, applying once is laughable, and yes UV rays can find you in your car running in and out of Target. JUST WEAR THE SUNSCREEN!

One of my favorite esthetician accounts .master.aesthetician always has amazing posts and information and this has to be one of my favorites time and time again. People forget our bodies are made up of chemicals, that there are actual chemicals we need. The language of “clean” or “green” or “organic” beauty and skincare is a majority of bu****it. Also, please stop watching, listening, and following social media influencers who KNOW NOTHING OF SKINCARE, PRODUCTS, OR PROCEDURES! Also, WEAR SUNSCREEN!

Being a makeup artist and esthetician is my passion because I have the ability to help people feel good about themselves. I love being able to help people see their beauty and strength.

I love chemical peels, I completely understand that just that term sounds incredibly scary to most people but chemical peels are one of the most powerful skin services that a client can get. This particular client was battling cystic acne along the jawline, acne scars on the cheek and pigmentation throughout the face. This is our third peel together and I used the hydrocodone and resorcinol peel. Lactic acid which is an AHA is a wonderful ingredient to help keep the skin moisturized while the salicylic acid is a BHA and will help her with the acne problems. KojIc acid and Hydroquinone is what will help the discoloration to give her an even skin tone. Most people become afraid of chemical peels because of the title of the service as well as the fact that acid sounds like you are going to be burning somebody but in reality most of these ingredients are derived from natural sources such as milk, sugars, fruits. Her cystic acne is completely under control now, her pigmentation is fading quite quickly, and the scarring has softened. This is why I love my job and this is why I’m passionate about my job because I have the ability to help someone with a situation or part of their life that is frustrating and makes them feel self-conscious. This is also the reason I am in nursing school, this will allow me to have a whole new scope of practice that can give my clients an even farther reach on skin solutions. #aesthetic

I’ve been forgetting this lately, I’ve been forgetting my power and strength. I’ve been forgetting that I am smart, funny, ambitious, strong, someone to be wanted and desired, someone worth attention and time, I’ve been forgetting that I am worth more than I’ve ever realized. I wanted to put this post up for anyone else that has forgotten any of these things about themselves to remind them that YOU ARE A STRONG FU***NG WOMAN

Yeah this would be pretty satisfying for me. Oh and a gift card for a free session of therapy with .parenting.guru because we all need therapy, don’t even try to lie to yourself. Don’t forget your sunscreen too (no, foundation with SPF doesn’t count, oil with SPF doesn’t count)! 😁

Tuesday Tip! First, retinol is nothing to be afraid of. There are myth beliefs about retinol burning/flaking/scarring skin. Retinol stimulate collagen which thickness and protects the skin. Second, retinol has multiple benefits such as treating acne, cleans all the junk inside pores, speeds up cellular turnover rates and collagen, lessens hyperpigmentation, brightens skin, soften/prevent fine lines/wrinkles/texture/tone.
Third, there is a range of affordable retinol products so don’t use your wallet as an excuse to not take care of your skin. Fourth, ASK QUESTIONS! If you aren’t sure about something or a product or have no clue what is esthetician’s are talking about then that means you should reach out and ask, but only ask people who are qualified not people who read blogs, who are paid to endorse products, people who are honest about their own skin and think apple cider vinegar is a skin toner 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Literally one of the hardest questions I’ll ever answer. 1. SPF 2. Serum 3. Eye cream. To me these are the bare basics one should have in their weapon arsenal of skin care. What would you choose?
