Dry January may be the best time to try this theory out. I know my rosacea flares when I drink so I pick my moments to drink carefully.

Drinking alcoholic beverages is one of the most commonly reported rosacea triggers. If you think this might be the case for you, here are a couple of ways you can test it out:

👉 Eliminate alcohol from your diet for a period of time and see if your condition improves. While cessation won't prove causation, it can provide good insight.

👉 Keep track of the type and amount of alcohol you're consuming and how your skin looks. Do you notice a pattern? Some rosacea sufferers report flare-ups from specific types of alcohol, but not others. Additionally, one drink may not trigger a flare-up, but more might.

Everyone's rosacea is unique to them, and it will take some sleuthing to identify your triggers. Remember: Although rosacea can be triggered by alcohol, it is not caused by it.
