How do I ensure there’s no harsh lines? It all comes down to how color is formulated, how lightness is applied and where it is placed.

With gray coverage/ blending, I identify your TRUE natural hair color using a color matching tool. This step matters more than people realize… and natural hair color is often misjudged. When permanent color is used it will lift your natural hair creating that obvious line as it grows out. For my guests who want to stay close to their natural color, I use a demi-permanent instead. Contrary to popular belief, it doesn’t wear off faster, it just doesn’t lift your natural hair…. which keeps the grow out soft, while covering or blending those pesky grays!

Using my comb to measure and follow the unique shape of my guest’s head acts as a road map when placing lightness to create the most impact in the areas it naturally lives. When adding natural lightness I work with very fine sections to keep everything diffused. For a more impactful result, the sections will be slightly larger and the placement adjusts… but each foil still has detailed blending so you never see a harshness.

A big part of avoiding that harsh line is in the blending process itself… when applying lightener I push and diffuse it into the hair and when the foils come out I wipe and blend each section thoroughly to soften the edges, ensuring everything melts together.
