How to Prevent Over-Processing with a Korean Lash Lift
Learn how to read the natural lash, control processing + know when it’s actually ready. Save your spot through the link in bio.

The timer is your guide. The LASHES tell you when they’re ready. 👀 One of the biggest mistakes you can make during a Korean Lash Lift is relying on processing time alone. Every client’s lashes are different, and the inner, middle + outer sections can even process at different speeds.

A few tips from our educators Nikki Jacobson + Shayla Garibay:

→ Perform the V Test + continuously monitor the lashes instead of waiting for the timer to go off.
→ Working with thin or delicate lashes? Apply Step 1 to the bottom 2/3 first, then pull it through the tips for only the final minute.
→ After that minute, remove Step 1 from the tips + apply Step 3 to keep them hydrated while the roots continue processing.
→ Worried they’re processing too quickly? Skip the wraps. Trapped heat can speed up processing.
→ For delicate tips, use an extra layer of Balm as added protection.

The goal isn’t to process every client for the exact same amount of time. It’s learning how to READ the lash and adjust accordingly.

Your retention problem might actually be a porosity problem. 👀

Think of the natural lash like this:
🎣 LOW POROSITY = fishing wire
The surface is smoother and more resistant, so when we try to “wrap” around it, there’s less for the extension and adhesive to grab onto.

🧵 HIGH POROSITY = thin string
The surface is more porous, so it can be easier to wrap and create attachment, but too much porosity can also mean the natural lash is more fragile and needs to be treated accordingly.

That’s exactly why you shouldn’t use one primer on every client. The natural lash has its own porosity + pH, and both can influence how the lash surface interacts with your adhesive. Proper prep is about creating the right environment for attachment, not just making the lashes “extra clean.” That’s why we created 3 different primers for 3 different lash conditions/porosities. Instead of automatically reaching for the same primer every appointment, start asking:

What does THIS client’s natural lash actually need?
