Back in 2016, I cut my hair off in the urge to unapologetically my love myself. Around that same time I started modeling, and during my first gig , I met Idris. There he did my makeup (beautifully) and gave me so much love, reassurance and guidance during the shoot. In that moment, I don’t think he knew the impact he had on someone who was struggling with self.

He has a way of pulling out the beauty in someone, bringing smiles and confidence to people’s faces. But his words go beyond makeup and hair. He taught me about inner beauty. Those foundations he set for me are things that are still apart of my everyday growth. After years of working together and years of being friends, those conversations still stick with me.

Idris saw my inner beauty, and pushed it to the light. No hiding. Never allowing it to dim or to be covered by the shadows of my insecurities.
To this day, although I am no longer in front of the camera, he still continues to give me my flowers in anything I do. He is forever apart of my self love journey.
