Proverbs 1:8-9
“Hear, my son…”

These are GOD’S instructions to not just listening with our ears but receiving it with humility. From GOD’S point of view, “hearing with our hearts” is imperative because this is how HE shapes a person for wisdom, honor, protection, and our future.

🌺The Bible emphasizes obeying and honoring parents as fundamental duty. With Ephesians 6:1-3, calling it the first commandment with a promise: that it may go well with you and you may live long on earth. Key verses include Colossians 3:20., (Obeying in all things) and Exodus 20:12 (Honoring father and mother).

🌺GOD is showing that wisdom is usually transferred relationally before it is understood intellectually. Because it is reflected by GOD’S design:
🌷Fathers often represent direction, discipline, and vision;
🌷Mothers often represent nurture, wisdom, and spiritual sensitivity.

🌺”Forsake not…”
This is a warning.
The enemy of wisdom is not ignorance alone — it is rebellion.

A person can hear truth for years and still walk away from it. Proverbs warns against abandoning godly instruction once emotions, pride, temptation and success kicks in.

🌺”They are a graceful garland for your head…”
In ancient culture, a garland or crown symbolized honor, victory, dignity, and celebration.
🌹GOD is saying:
“Wisdom will decorate your life.”
Not merely externally, but internally:
Wisdom changes
🌷How you think,
🌷How you speak,
🌷How you lead,
🌷How how you treat people,
🌷How you carry yourself.

A wise person carries a kind of spiritual beauty and stability that money cannot buy.

🌺GOD values character more than appearance.
Wisdom becomes visible over time.
