One of the most common questions we get is…

"Will dermaplaning make my hair grow back thicker?"

The answer is no.

Dermaplaning removes vellus hair (also known as peach fuzz), which is very fine and soft. This is completely different from terminal hair, which is thicker and influenced by hormones.

Because of that, dermaplaning does not change the structure, color, or thickness of your hair. It will grow back exactly the same as before.

Sometimes it can feel slightly different as it grows back, but that’s only because the hair has been freshly cut - not because it’s actually thicker.

What dermaplaning does do is gently exfoliate the skin by removing built-up dead skin cells along with that fine hair. This helps to:
