I am so excited for next Saturday! Registration is open for our Pop-up Generation POUND Class !

GENERATION POUND is a youth-oriented program that fuses movement and music to improve focus, coordination, physical fitness and teamwork skills. Kids will learn alternative ways to explore movement, embrace their creativity and ROCK OUT - ultimately building strength, confidence and self-awareness. Ages 6-15.

It wasn't a dream! Being chosen to be part of Pound's Tour Crew Ambassador Team still doesn't feel real. Most of you know how passionate I am about Pound but not many know WHY I do this. So here's my why: To empower people of every age and any stage to feel their absolute best and push for progress, not perfection. My fitness journey started years ago when I volunteered for Arise & Ski which teaches kids and adults with developmental disabilities how to ski with the help of adaptive equipment. I taught 8-year-old "Jesse", not his real name, who was autistic and nonverbal how to get on and off the chair lifts and move left and right down the mountain. I would shout out "Left!" and he'd lean to the left. He knew that this wasn't a ride - he had to actively participate or he would fall. He was skiing and he was in pure joy! I also worked with 9-year-old "Conner", not his real name, who was born paralyzed from the waist down. He learned how to hold his outriggers for balance when turning. This kid was a barrel of laughs and so much fun. One run, he took a big spill and it scared him. We went down the mountain to the lodge, got him some chicken fingers, fought off the tears and braved the mountain again. This taught me that with patience and persistence, YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU WANT. It's not a cliché. It's not a mantra. It's a fact. When I worked for SilverSneakers HQ, members would come to class at all different levels. I saw 90-year-olds doing full pushups. So if you take a class with me and I push you to dig a little deeper, now you know why. It's because I believe in you. And I'm going to keep pushing myself too. Whether you've tried a class, shared a class with a friend or are just cheering us on, you've made a difference in my life and I won't forget you.

I’m so proud of these rock stars! We braved storms and power outages to make it to this morning’s class. Where there’s a will, there’s always a way. The rock star in me honors the rock star in you. 🕯️ 🧘‍♀️

Saturdays are for ! Nothing wakes me up like walking into a class filled with smiling students, positive vibes and great music. They even do the whoops-whoops and the heeeys with me! You can catch a class at the WREC Saturdays at 9 am.
