Most hair extension specialists know when to use their method.
But as a loss specialist, I know when NOT to use it.

My goal isn’t forcing every guest into the same install.
It’s to create the healthiest, most comfortable, most natural-looking result for that specific person.

Sometimes that’s one method.
Sometimes it’s a blend of wefts, ktips, toppers or closures.

But if you don’t understand hair loss itself… you’re basically guessing with expensive hair attached to it. Which is a bold business strategy, honestly.

That’s why .owens and I built UNconvention around understanding the WHY behind the install, not just copying techniques off the internet and praying.

You are an artist and deserve to be able to BE AN ARTIST.

At UNcon — you’ll learn 2 weft beadwork techniques, 3 topper beadwork techniques, and how to install k-tips.

We only have a few guidelines—but don’t worry, we tell you EXACTLY WHY it’s a guideline and honestly, sometimes those are even up for debate.

Stop being forced into a box and start feeling comfortable being an innovator 🖤 OH, and did I mention all tools are included?

Yesterday, someone said “You just get to travel around the world teaching about hair loss?! That’s a COOL job!”

And it made me think, “holy s**t, that IS my life and it is COOL af!”

But it’s not just about doing toppers and creating great outcomes for me…
It’s about holding space for people to reclaim themselves. 🖤

When a client sits in my chair, we’re not just solving hair loss. We’re giving them back the mirror and saying, “You’re YOU again.”

That’s why I’ve always been about transforming reflections—because it’s not just hair. It’s about seeing yourself, loving yourself, and letting the inside shine out.

If you’re experiencing hair loss and want that kind of care, I’m here for you. And if you’re a stylist who wants to offer a service that leads with the soul—join me.
Let’s change lives, one reflection at a time.

TRUST BASED MARKETING.

F**k pain point marketing that just twists the knife and f**k the “look at the bright side” kind of conversations…
Hair loss sufferers are TIRED of it.

They know how bad their hair loss is and they feel the pain it brings every time they look in the mirror or someone points a camera at them.

What they’re looking for is someone they can TRUST.
Someone who shows they give a damn.
And someone who’s willing to hold space for them and make them feel valued, heard, and safe.

“Mmkay, well how TF do I build trust into my marketing, Bri!?” (direct quote from you, probably.)

You start talking about hair loss like a normal thing.

You start posting pictures of fine-haired clients on your page (instead of just the ones who have enough hair for 3 people).

And you start sharing tips, tricks, or knowledge ABOUT hair loss that clients will value.

It’s not about screaming from the rooftops, it’s about creating a safe space on a foundation of trust and allowing the person to believe you.

When I have a new client with a unique hair loss pattern — I recreate it to make sure my idea will work!

Here’s how:
I’m going to get a mannequin and cut the hair super short in the trouble area first. (I use thinning shears if they still have some growth still and straight blades if it’s an area of total loss)

Then, I stick my pintail comb point under the “scalp” and twist the tail around in a clock-like way.

This pulls those mannequin hair plugs under the surface of the plastic scalp material and gives you an accurate rendering of what your client is actually working with.

Why guess, when you can know.

You deserve a solution that gives you enough tools in your toolbox to feel confident taking on hard cases.

Every client’s density, loss pattern, scalp sensitivity, lifestyle, and progression can look completely different… and when someone is trusting you with one of the most vulnerable parts of themselves, “I think this might work” isn’t good enough for me.

Before I ever touch a real client with a complex loss pattern, I’ll literally recreate the scenario on a mannequin and troubleshoot it first.

Placement. Tension. Weight distribution. Coverage. Blend. I want to SEE the problem before I try to solve it.

That’s the difference between learning a technique… and actually understanding the WHY behind what you’re doing.

Most slipping issues are not because the client has “overly fine hair and they’re not because the method “doesn’t work.”

It’s usually because there isn’t enough support inside the bead.

If the bead is sliding before you’ve even secured it, that’s your sign. A properly fitted bead should stay where you place it.

Not enough hair will lead to instability.
Proper support gives security, longevity, and way less frustration for both you and your client.

If this kind of education actually helps your brain connect the dots instead of just giving you random “tips,” stick around. I teach extension + hair loss education with a heavy focus on the WHY behind what we’re doing so you can troubleshoot confidently behind the chair.
