Regular moisturizers are often ineffective around the eye area because the skin there is thinner and more delicate. Most women are completely unaware of this and therefore see their first signs of aging as lines and wrinkles around the eyes.
1. The skin around the eyes is significantly thinner than the rest of the face, making it more susceptible to irritation and dryness and therefore increasing the need for a moisturizer for that area that actually works.
2. The eye area has fewer oil glands, meaning it naturally produces less oil to help moisturize the skin which further increases the need for an effective moisturizer.
3.The molecules in regular moisturizers are often larger than those in eye creams, which can make it difficult for them to pe*****te the delicate skin around the eyes effectively. So typically a regular moisturizer just sits on the outer layer of the skin around the eye and doesn't pe*****te the tissue to accomplish anything.
4. Some moisturizers contain ingredients like fragrances, harsh chemicals, or high concentrations of certain active ingredients that can be irritating to the eye area.
5. Regular moisturizers can be too thick and occlusive (blocking moisture from escaping), which can lead to clogged pores and milia in the delicate eye area.

2. They often contain ingredients that address specific eye area concerns like dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines.
