Emily Mason Pelvic Wellness
Hi! I'm Dr. Emily. I'm a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist, Women's Health Coach and Yoga Instructor.
My journey with pelvic floor issues began in childhood, with chronic UTIs and persistent constipation. As I entered adolescence at age 14, I experienced heavy and painful periods, accompanied by intense PMS and lower back pain. It wasn't until later in life that I discovered the profound connection between these symptoms and my pelvic floor, a term I wasn't even familiar with back then. Having emb

This isn’t about fear—it’s about facts.
Hormonal birth control has helped many of us, but there’s a side to it we were rarely told:
⚠️ It shuts down your natural hormonal rhythm
🩸 It masks real hormone imbalances
🧠 It can make you feel disconnected from your body and emotions
And coming off? That can feel like a whole new challenge.
If you’ve ever felt off, flat, or just not like yourself on birth control—you’re not alone. And you’re not imagining it.
Let’s talk about what’s really going on behind the scenes—and what you can do to feel more connected again.

✨ NEW on the blog! ✨
Ever feel like your energy, mood, and motivation change week to week—and wonder why?
(Hint: You’re not “inconsistent.” You’re cyclical.)
Learning how to work with your menstrual cycle—instead of pushing against it—can completely transform how you move, train, and take care of yourself.
In my latest blog, I’m breaking down:
• The 4 phases of your cycle
• How your body, brain, and emotions shift
• Simple ways to honor your needs (without guilt)
Your hormones aren’t working against you. They’re your inner guide.
Let’s learn how to listen.

✨ Challenge Time! ✨
I challenge you to take just 5 minutes today to sit in stillness, breathe, and reset. No distractions, no to-do lists—just pure quiet. 🌿
This simple moment of stillness can help calm your mind, re-center your energy, and give you the space you deserve to just be. 💆♀️
Afterward, share how it felt! I’d love to hear what you experienced. Let’s make space for quiet in our busy lives and create moments of peace. 🌸

As women, we often push ourselves to the limit to achieve our goals and help others. But in doing so, we can lose touch with our bodies and their needs.
I know this all too well. As a competitive golfer, I ignored my pain for years, only to find real healing when I finally listened to my body through yoga.
💡 So here’s the truth:
Your body holds wisdom. Pay attention to the signs. Rest when needed, seek support, and don’t push through the pain. You deserve to prioritize your well-being, so you can thrive.

Ever wonder why some weeks you feel like you can crush every workout… and other weeks just getting out of bed feels like a win?
It’s not just random.
It’s your cycle.
Your hormones shift every single week, and your body, brain, energy, and mood shift with them.
Here’s a quick breakdown:
• Menstrual Phase (bleeding): Rest, reflect, slow movement.
• Follicular Phase (after bleeding): Energy rises—great time to try new workouts, plan projects, dream big.
• Ovulatory Phase (mid-cycle): Peak energy, strength, and social vibes. Lift heavy, connect, move your body!
• Luteal Phase (before your period): Energy dips—focus on grounding, lighter workouts, and deeper self-care.
Learning to move with your body instead of pushing against it can change everything.
It’s not about doing more. It’s about doing what matches your body’s needs each week.
(And no—you’re not lazy. You’re cyclical. You’re powerful.)

Some seasons feel like one big game of catch-up.
Laundry. Emails. Sleep. Yourself.
Last month slipped through my fingers, and honestly? I let it. I paused. I rested. I missed the blog (and a few dinners that weren’t gluten free chicken nuggets). And then I came back.
In the newest blog, I’m sharing what that looked like—and how a simple New Year’s resolution (hello, sunrise walks) has turned into a powerful practice for my body and mind. There’s also a lil’ science-y peek at how your circadian rhythm supports your hormones, and why those slow mornings matter more than you think.
Plus: a cozy, zero-stress crockpot recipe for when life feels like a lot.
Comment Stress and I will send you the newsletter link! And the latest blog!
