One more down! Hopefully only two more to go. White blood cells are a bit low, 1.3 so was able to get chemo yesterday and today by the skin of my teeth. They'll be giving me a patch type thing that will pull WBC from my bone marrow. In turn this will make me hurt and ache pretty bad for weeks to come. I may have to lighten my load at the salon. I do an average of 45 people a week. If I have to move you, just know it's for a reason. And know that it bothers me and is very stressful to know that I'm having to move people. It's mentally not easy for me and I will ONLY do it if I have to! Just bear with me, anyone who knows me knows I will do right by everyone! Usually do right by others before myself, but at this point I've got to take better care of myself. Also because my counts are so low I can/will catch anything!! If you or anyone in your family has been sick in 48 hours I ask that you please reschedule!! Thanks for all the love and support everyone has shown. Much appreciated!
I know this is flu season and it seems people are sick all over the place. Kye has been sick since Thursday night. I haven't seen him since Wednesday ☹️
Hopefully he can come home tomorrow!
Thanks in advance being aware.
Hello everyone, this is Christy’s Aunt Robyn. I am posting this because Christy will not.
Christy returned home Saturday afternoon from her first chemo in Nashville. Christy and Sonya will be traveling every three weeks, Wednesday-Saturday for her treatment. This means there will be two less week days, and one less Saturday a month for her to schedule appointments.
Salon requests:
If you or anyone in your family has been around anyone with fever, or any type of infection, within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment, you MUST reschedule your appointment. Christy’s immune system will be compromised as a result of chemo, but she wants, and most importantly needs to work to maintain her sanity and the ability to support her child and home. Please be considerate of her health and anyone else who is in the salon.
Make sure to schedule ahead for your appointment. As you all know Christy works the hair styling part of the salon on her own. Be gracious in planning ahead for your needs. We are trying to keep her hours balanced.
Thank you all for being supportive of Christy and Kye and their ability to maintain through this process. Christy never wants to give up, or say she is tired. We as her family and friends will have to remind her that the best way to take care of the people she loves … is to take care of herself.
Teri is available to handle scheduling. Call 662-205-4789 to make or reschedule your appointment.
Thank you,
Aunt Robyn

So all went well yesterday with the first chemo treatment. Had a small allergic reaction, they quickly and oh so sweetly took care of it. It was a very LONG day. Sonya and I were there 9 hours. She was a trooper! Dr Lamar is absolutely amazing! The nurses and staff are as well. Very attentive and caring. They made the time tolerable. Today will only be an hour at most. Once regulated it will be 4 hours day one and 30 minutes on day 2. I'll only have to come once a month for two days over a six month period, I can handle that! Doc Lamar is hoping that I won't have to have radiation once chemo is done, seeing as how it's not very kind to the neck area. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. The outpouring of messages, prayers, love and positive thoughts has been overwhelming!! I do know I wouldn't be able to do this if I didn't have the love and support I have! Couldn't ask for better family, friends and clients!! I am one lucky girl. Oh and luckily I sleep on my back too haha. The purple jaguar I'm leaning on is one that Kye got me years ago while at the zoo with Meghan. She goes everywhere with me. Sometimes it's just the little things that make us comfortable and happy. Thanks again, I'll keep everyone updated. Love to all!!
I'll be in Nashville until Monday. Doctor Lamar did the bone marrow biopsy today and wants to put a port in Monday morning. Since it's a surgical procedure, it needed to be scheduled with a surgeon. They got on the ball getting me in Monday. Chemo will start being administered on the 23rd, As far as I know. Then I get it two days in a row every month for 6 months. She looked into a clinical trial but I'd have to live here. I'd need to be seen and tested twice a week every week. That's just not doable. I feel I am in GREAT hands and am exactly where I should be. Thanks to Sonya and Stacy for being with me each step. And to my family for picking up my slack at home and with Kye and in every other way needed, just being there for me. Teri for picking up my slack at work, and to my clients for being so understanding! The outpouring of messages, prayers and words of encouragement have been amazing! Truly, I know I am loved. Amie was telling me the other day that it's an absolute proven fact people who know they're being prayed for heal faster. Watch this be this fastest recovery ever!!
Salon West clients, friends and extended family,
The week before Christmas I was diagnosed with lymphoma which over the past six weeks I have been trying to identify and get a treatment plan. After oncology appointments in Tupelo, New Albany, and Nashville the diagnosis is lymphocytic lymphoma. So, if you have been affected by, or wondering about all of the rescheduling this is the reason.
I will be traveling to Nashville this Thursday (2-9) for a bone marrow biopsy and hopefully a treatment plan will be decided from the results of this biopsy.
I realize that many of you have had to be rescheduled and for that I am sorry. It truly makes me insane too! I am trusting as the treatment plan starts the schedule will smooth out. I ask for your patience and promise promise I understand the need for everyone to have their "good hair days."
I ask that anyone who wants to offer a prayer for God's will in my healing, and guidance for the doctors I would be grateful. For those that don't ... well, you know 😝
I have not lost my sense of humor and am depending on humor, tenacity, the love of family and friends, and support from all of the above to help me through this.
Christy
