October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and my story is a fortunate one. 🎀

In May of 2018 if found a small lump in my right breast by chance really. I immediately knew it wasn’t supposed to be there. After a rush of testing and appointments we got the news that it was, in fact, Breast Cancer. I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, grade 2, HER2+ at 39 years old. I had already been struggling with multiple health issues prior to treatment but nothing could’ve prepared me for the fight. Fortunately I never felt alone and after 15 rounds of chemotherapy and a double mastectomy with reconstruction I was diagnosed CANCER FREE!! 💞 I am still receiving monthly treatments and trying to manage side effects of chemo and hormone blockers but I am blessed with a beautiful life that I will forever fight for! 💪💞
You don’t fight cancer alone. So many friends and family held me up and sat along side me through every moment of my fight. (Literally so many I couldn’t add enough pictures 🥺)
Breast Cancer effects so many women and early detection is key! Please do self exams regularly and don’t hesitate bring something to your doctors attention AT ANY AGE! 🎀🤗

Good morning! I apologize for not updating you all more often. These are crazy and uncertain times with COVID-19 and I’ve been home the last 3 weeks taking care of my family and anxiously watching this craziness unfold. I have a weakened immune system due to my fight with cancer and lingering health issues and I appreciate everyone’s willingness to be flexible ♥️Glow Skin Therapy has officially moved into its new location but will not be opening it’s doors until we have clearance from the state to do so. I’m so grateful for each & every day that we have and for the health that we often take for granted. Sending light & love your direction & praying your families stay healthy & safe! Love, Ruthie
