I’m healing and the surgery seemed to go well. My thumb feels like it isn’t all the way mine but they tell me it will heal and i believe it! Things are different and that’s ok. When I’m back behind my chair it’ll be amazing and for now I’ll heal. Thank you for the love and support. I’ve got about 8 weeks to go. Sometimes another set of hands on your hair is a good thing for those of you that need someone now and the rest of you and anyone I missed will get in first. Nothing like loving my craft. I have amazing and beautiful humans in my chair and I’m grateful beyond. If you’re my client you know that it’s not just a haircut and color in my space. It’s more. A lot more. That brings me to an update. I’m closing my books to new clients until 2025. What this means is if you’re on my schedule now great. If your already a client of mine then your welcome and encouraged to get online (link in bio) and book with me. This decision comes as I’ve been needing more time off to heal my hand and stay true and present for the folks who trust me to make magic. This craft/trade/love affair with hair for over 20 years has been amazing and as I get older (and better) and change so shall my relationship with my art. I hope yours too! So if you got this far; i love you. You are worthy. Please ask yourself how much suffering you want before you make choices. We are remarkable beings in a wild time so ground yourself before trying to be anything for anybody else. Love yourself more than you were taught or shown as a little. I have trigger thumb. Going to hand doc today.
20+ years behind the chair. Slingin drinks before that. Baking bread at age 14. The public service announcement here is that repetitive motion ailments are real. The docs put us on the pills and say “keep working” and the truth is s**t wears out. So here i sit before a scary appointment with a right hand that won’t work and clients to keep happy and bills to pay.
You have no F’ing idea what folks are going thru. We are trained not to talk about this stuff for fear of loosing money. Well, I’m here saying I’m aging and my gifts and my talent is growing while the access to me may be being carefully curated. I will take care of myself as I do others. We all matter. Wish me luck.
