It’s been quite an adjustment going from full time hair to part time trainer/part time stylist. I’m finding my rhythm and enjoying the journey.

This valentine’s weekend with my lil family was perfect. Forever thankful for this man who provides for me and shows up for me everyday. Thankful for this crazy puppy. I’ve talked to several of you in the chair about our desire to be parents and have a sweet baby. I was naive to think it would be easy… I know some of you can relate with waiting on the Lord’s timing and that being hard. Patiently waiting for the day I have kids and I can give them pink hair and mullets ❤️

This golden caramel balayage is so pretty. I love how this enhanced Janna’s already beautiful hair. True balayage is freehand painted because balayage is a technique that paints bleach onto the hair. You can mimic the look of a balayage using foils (which is now called foilyage), but I just love the freehand look…sun-kissed☀️

I was very thoroughly trained in this technique and love when I can use it. Not every client can do a freehand technique because it all depends on your starting point & goals.

Gosh I loved this turnout from last weekend so much. Julianne needed some warmth back into her dimension. We did a partial highlight in the early summer and initially had it toned warm, but ALL COLOR FADES. So she’s back for upkeep!

I was unaware of how toxic the beauty industry is during my first couple years as a stylist. I have changed a lot since then and I honestly wrestle now in this industry because the things I value in life are no longer perfect hair, perfect skin and a perfect body.

I value self love in your natural form

I’m trying to find my space as an artist who is not aligned with the toxic beauty industry. The perfect hairstyle does not exist and your hair does not define your beauty. Really, I am here to help you love yourself.

Feels good to be back in the salon this week after taking last week off! My family is scattered all over, so the moments we get together are so special to me.

My beautiful client had some grays growing in and previous color on her mids and ends. She was looking for something lower maintenance that incorporates her natural grays. I did a partial highlighting service, a root smudge with toner, and a cooler toned gloss/toner for her highlights to blend with her natural.

say it with me… ALL COLOR FADES and it fades WARM. Because of this… all color is some bit of maintenance but this type of service is WAY less maintenance than getting permanent color at your roots to completely cover grays. Her maintenance will look like coming in for toners every couple months, and doing a partial or full highlight every 4-6 months.

I know it is so hard to age and see signs of that. Our culture is always telling us to try the new best thing to remove our wrinkles and our grays and basically never look older. I encourage you today to look at yourself… and tell yourself you are beautiful and your worth is not in how you look. Aging is a gift and it is NOT all downhill from here and incorporating your gray hair IS the move.

Ok lowkey obsessed with my new phone. Check out this QUALITY😍 and Isabella is drop dead gorgeous so all her content was poppin off.

We just did a big cut this time. Her color was done about 4 months ago and still LOOKS SO GOOD. 👏🏻👏🏻 planning on a lil mini highlight in the new year! I love lived in color for this reason. Now I do find that the closer you are to your natural color, the better the maintenance and grow out will be. She is a natural blonde so the grow out is SEAMLESS.

This cut is everything on her. Slightly longer in the front… a tasteful amount, not too much… and lots of texturizing with my shears.

I love a bob curly and straight, so I showed both!

This color from Saturday on my gorgeous client, Olga, is SO GOOD and seeing her before and after is amazing! I love how this color and placement of the highlights really make her features pop.

I’ve been really into perfecting the subtle money piece, and it ain’t easy considering every person’s hairline be different 🫠
