I absolutely love working with reds, natural or not so natural. This was the second time I had colored this clients hair and the first was a bit too vibrant and coppery so we toned down the formula from last time and she left very happy with the result and so was I.

I see being a stylist is a collaborative effort and I encourage my clients to give me feedback about what they loved, didn’t love, want to change or any questions they have. Also keeping notes in my app of what formulas I used the previous visit is like my insurance policy to ensuring the proper adjustments can be made, just like this time!

Grey blending, no lightener. I opted for high lift color to seamlessly blend her natural glitter (grey) for maximum time between appointments and to minimize damage for her naturally curly hair. There are MANY ways to get creative in grey blending which is one of the reasons I love getting to do this service for my clients 💕

This gorgeous client was ready to ditch the every 6 week grey touch up appointment and embrace a more natural, low maintenance grow out. I’ve been doing a lot of these types of color transformations lately and it’s one of the most satisfying services I get to do to.

Almost every one of them comment after that they feel like they look more like themselves. They notice their skin tone and eyes come alive and feel relieved not to be tied to a grey coverage appointment in 6-8 weeks.

This doesn’t have to look like “going grey” or a painful year of growing out your dark hair color. It’s about blending what is naturally growing out of your head, in the pattern that it is growing, and highlighting your natural features with less maintenance. This could look like coming in 3 times a year or starting the journey of going grey. Totally up to you!
