I’m still in awe of the turnout for this weekends Witches’ Market! HUNDREDS of you came to to our little apothecary in the woods to shop for apothecary goods, enjoy the bounty of the harvest, sip potions, do fire rituals and craft witches brooms with us!

I was trapped behind the register ringing you out for a crazy amount of fire c***r, tea and salves but in the moments I got to sneak outside I was witness to circles of women and their loved ones in ritual together, sipping c***r over wonderful healing conversations and enjoying the gorgeous weather and Briar Stone Farm property. This is why we created this space! The shelves are empty (restocking for Thursday shop hours!) but my heart is soooo full!

You all brought me special books, flowers, w**e, fresh baked bread, seeds and gifts and so many people thanked me for sharing my space and practice and offerings with you all. I’m a bit shocked and so humbled by that because I am definitely the one that should be grateful.

I do not take for granted that this was/is special! I dont think it’s common to have a shop event and invite strangers into your home yet have it feel instantly like you are surrounded by friends. THAT.IS.MAGIC!

Huge thank you to my love Adam for walking over 20 miles just parking cars and tending the ritual fire and all the other ways he supports my wild ideas. And love to my first hand witch who helped me get the apothecary ready, let me borrow a cauldron and served up potions ALL day. for offering up her insights and tarot magic both days (if you missed her don’t fret-we will be sending out details soon for how to connect with her for a virtual reading! And we are cohosting a class together in a couple weeks too!) and and for jumping in to wash c***r mugs and tidy up! And and all the other wonderful friends and customers who shared pictures of the weekend too!

I’ll be sprinkling the ashes of our ritual fire in the garden this week. May our collective magic nurture seeds for the magical world we want to create together! I can’t wait to invite you all back so soon!

I’m still processing how wildly magical today was! I have so much to say but I’m going to save it for now because I’m happy but EXHAUSTED and I can’t wait to welcome more of you for day 2 of the Witches Market tomorrow!

Just a few notes/reminders:

-We have ended preregistration for the witches broom craft but there are still supplies left so we will be making brooms tomorrow until materials run out!

-Parking got a little tight today and while we managed ok-let’s give Adam less work to do tomorrow (he walked over 10 miles parking cars today! 😂) So if possible, please carpool and make sure to follow instruction for where to park! And PLEASE drive slowly on our private road as well as Seymour road.

- Only the shop and apothecary are open this weekend. There are two private residences on our property so please keep to only the shop and event space and respect everyone’s privacy. We dont have the staff to provide garden tours this weekend but join my mailing list for updates on when I host garden classes!

-Celeste Simone will be here again tomorrow from 11-4! 20 min readings are first come first serve and there will be a list to sign up when you arrive!

The Witches Market is generating so much interest! The first post was shared 1,000 times! And my account has found over 200 new followers! Welcome!

✨The event is Sat Oct 3rd and Sun Oct 4th from 11AM to 5PM each day. (Please note the typo regarding the start time in the initial flyer).

✨While here, you can shop the witches market run by herbalist, Amber Kennedy, enjoy seasonal beverages, make a broom craft, tour the apothecary and receive a tarot reading from Celeste Simone Tarot.

✨Please note: this is not a multi vendor event! This is an intimate, cozy open house to celebrate the season of the witch and showcase all of the herbal goodies that have been created with the abundance of this year’s herbal harvest. The small shop features herbal remedies, teas, apothecary supplies, antiques, home decor, dried botanicals, ritual and self care items, soaps, candles and local gifts. We take cash, credit card and Venmo!

✨Briar Stone Apothecary is a quaint, homestead shop and studio owned by herbalist Amber Kennedy. Located in the middle of the woods at 10 Apple Tree Lane in Underhill Vermont. This property is also home to two families. Please respect our privacy and only explore the shop and designated areas while you visit. You are welcome to visit at other times but please plan to visit only during our open hours, for special events or make an appointment!

✨Parking is limited. Park in designated areas and do not block cars in carport. We are located on a private, bumpy dirt road. Don’t drive your Porsche down here 😂

✨There is no public restroom at Briar Stone Apothecary. Please plan accordingly.

✨There is a fun broom making craft for you to take part in! $20 materials fee. pre-registration is STRONGLY encouraged if you plan to craft so we can stock enough materials. Details/registration at link in bio.

12-4pm both days offering mini tarot readings in the herb drying room! $20 for 20 mins. First come first serve so add your name to the list when you arrive! Celeste can accept $ or Venmo.

✨We are happy to welcome your little goblins…uhh children 😂, however, this event is not geared towards children. There will be a fire burning, breakable items in the shop and a self guided craft project that requires adult assistance. If you bring kids please make sure you are supervising them! Unattended children may be added to a witches brew!

While I was helping to harvest potatoes at our community garden this morning, I heard a fellow volunteer say “it was a two cat morning”. Meaning, the chill in the air had the household animals curling up in bed looking for some cozy warmth.

And it smelled like fall today, that sweet smell of decaying leaves and fallen overripe fruit. The hops are harvested, baskets of squash are piling up in the pantry, herbs are hanging from the rafters, I made the first pot of stew of the season and it’s almost time for the first fire on the hearth. But until then, fragrant candles are chasing the lengthening shadows and early fall spirits away and adding some comforting illumination to the longer nights.

I’m so pleased with these beautiful candles that just arrived at the shop!

After years of only making and selling my own products, it has been so much fun to choose a few special items from other makers and artisans to start bringing into the apothecary shop.

Anyone that knows me and my brand, knows that intention is everything to me. So knowing how much love and care goes into these candles from Belle Savon Vermont was so important to me. They are made right here in Vermont from pure coconut soy wax and poured into recycled glass jars. A portion of proceeds goes to help rescue animals. They are even emblazoned with the words “intentional illumination”. And of course the botanical focused scents are divine!

11 gorgeous scents are now available at Briar Stone Apothecary starting this Thursday and Friday!

I’ll be honest-I’m struggling to keep things in stock these days. I’ll have customers ask for a remedy at a market and I make a double or triple batch but by next market I’m sold out again. So I’m working out how to a scale up production of my micro batches and am working in the apothecary and gardens more than full time to keep things stocked so you can get your herbal remedies faster while still remaining committed to quality and sustainability!

But for now-don’t wait on a remedy! The best way to get it is to snag a couple when it’s in stock! Next best way is to preorder on my website so you are next in line when a potion gets restocked. You can choose shipping or convenient local pickup at a market or the shop.

To my fellow market vendors, artisans and local business owners:

I’ve always been a fan of bartering and exchanging goods and services without the use of money. I already use as many of your local, raw ingredients as possible when creating my own products and I love fostering these relationships and keeping everything as “close to home” as possible.

I’m trying to do that more and more these days as a way to be more environmentally friendly, build community, support other small businesses and as a way to extricate myself from larger corrupt systems.

I also know that as small business owners we don’t always “treat” ourselves and our dollars need to stretch further and further these days so perhaps bartering is a sustainable way for us to experience each others offerings without money.

I’m not always able to accept a trade because unfortunately I do have to pay bills with cold hard cash but I’m almost always interested in exchanging necessities like locally grown or raised food and occasionally like to barter handmade craft and gift items so always feel free to ask!

So as we are entering the gift giving season and my markets start to wind down for the year please know that I’m open to a trade and looking to stock my pantry for winter! I can trade products and herbs or classes and consultations.
