How I keep my hair from getting dry and damaged under braids 💆🏽♀️
Hydration, hydration, hydration! Making sure my hair is moisturized from root to tip & I’ve been using soulstruck spray on hair mask throughout my fro before I get it braided for that extra layer of protection. So lightweight, doesn’t weigh my hair down but it definitely has made it noticeably softer and easier to detangle ahead of protective styling.

The suite was clean & cozy, Steph is great vibes too 🥰.
Steph does a great job at overly communicating what she’s doing so you feel comfortable with the service. I got a brow tint for the first time and she knocked it out the park! The tint will fade 20% by tomorrow for a more natural look but I’m already in love with the results!

Black & brown girls don’t be afraid of a lil self tanner 🫣 it helps your skin tone look so even & bronze without having to tan in the sun and damage our precious skin. Lmk if you want deets on my routine, I used The Gradual in medium/dark.

How to start your retinol journey safely:
1. Start low & slow - lower % retinols, ideally an encapsulated one (helps control the release of the ingredient to prevent irritation) no more than 2 (non consecutive) nights a week. My favorite beginners retinol right now is Remedy for Pore Size. So good for acne!
2. Do not mix - don’t pair this with an other exfoliants (think salicylic acid, mandelic acid, etc). If your skin is new to retinol test it by itself to gauge how your skin will react to it.
3. Hydrate - use a rich moisturizer after, retinol can be drying to new users but making sure you give your skin hydration through your cleanser, an additional serum & moisturizer.
4. Give it time! - 30 days minimum to really see results, but depending on if you find the right one for you, you can see results much sooner!
