When this client came to me back in February we had a really in depth and transparent conversation about the health of her hair. At the time she had a FULL head of keratin tip extensions and many areas where her hair had been chemically altered due to overlapping previous blonde and just not taking the time needed to keep it healthy.

We transitioned her over to 2 rows of beaded weft extensions, this has allowed her hair to chill tf out. Only two horseshoe points of contact on the head, compared to 500+ mini micro points of contact with k-tips.

I told her to just trust me, it was going to take some time and patience and extra love to get it back in good, healthy spot.

5 months later, after a few partial highlights, extension move-ups, and many haircuts later, we are definitely on the up swing when it comes to the health of her hair! I mean come on, look at that difference!

So, how can you match hair extension with your hair color? A good rule of thumb is to look at your hair in natural light and try to match it to the shade from the middle to the ends. The color closer to the roots tends to be a different shade, but the goal is to have the extensions blend with the mids + ends of your hair 🤎

If you intend on dying the hair extensions, just remember dyeing hair extensions darker is easy and safe. However bleaching hair extensions to get them to a lighter shade has a high probability of deteriorate the quality of the hair, if not done professionally 🤎

Another great use for hair extensions is to create the appearance of highlights, balayage and additional dimensional effects. Sometimes without even needing to color your natural hair depending on the goal color 🤎
