In 1997 my cousin Cindy was involved in a horrific construction accident. The pics below show some of her injuries & how severe they were.
She broke 3 vertebrae. Had 2 surgeries on her back where the surgeon put in 2 rods and 8 screws. 1 -10 inch screw .
Her pelvic was sheared in half. She now has an 8" plate with 6 screws holding it together.

She has had 4 ankle surgeries. The screws are removed and it is fused together (doesn't bend) but hurts when strained against or wrong shoes.

She was a case study because of the extreme multiple injuries. It was published & sent out to all United States hospitals.
