I wanted to share this because in 2025, I was feeling overwhelmed, tired, and disconnected more often than I wanted to admit.

 On the outside I was doing “fine” but underneath it felt like I was only taking care of myself once I was already exhausted and wondering why nothing ever felt sustainable.

There are a handful of ideas about self-care that get repeated so often, they start to feel like facts… even when they’re not.

And when you’re operating from the wrong assumptions, it’s easy to:

 – push through instead of pausing
 – ignore your needs until they’re impossible to miss
 – or feel guilty for resting at all

That’s why I wanted to break down some of the most common misconceptions I hear around waiting until burnout to care for yourself, and what’s actually going on beneath the surface.

Not to tell you you’re “doing it wrong.”
But to give you clarity… and a little relief.
