As some of you may know, this past July we unexpectedly lost the true Deadhead behind the inspiration for The Grateful Head.⚡️💔

On October 4th, we’ll be helping host a memorial benefit in his honor, bringing together music, community, and all the things he loved.

We are currently looking for sponsors, vendors, raffle/basket donations, and other contributions to help make the event special.

AI can replace a lot of things. Professional judgment, experience, and trained eye isn’t one of them.

We need to talk about something we’re seeing more and more in the salon… Taking a before photo + an inspiration photo, uploading them to AI, and asking, “Can my hair look like this?”

AI might tell you YES. It might even tell you exactly what your stylist “should” do.

But here’s what AI cannot do… It cannot feel the integrity of your hair. It doesn’t know every chemical service underneath that color. It doesn’t know if there’s box dye, henna, overlapping lightener, medication-related changes, mineral buildup, or years of artificial pigment hiding in that strand. It cannot perform a strand test. It cannot watch your hair lift in real time. It cannot feel when your hair has reached its limit.

And it definitely cannot decide when continuing to lighten your hair could cause breakage instead of blonde.

Your inspiration picture shows us your destination. Your stylist has to determine the safest route to get you there.

Sometimes that takes one appointment.
Sometimes it takes three.

Sometimes your hair texture, density, starting canvas, color history, or natural pigment means the same technique used on the person in the photograph will look completely different on you.

That doesn’t automatically mean your stylist did something wrong.

Licensed cosmetologists go to school, complete required training, pass state licensing exams, continue their education, and spend years behind the chair learning something AI cannot replicate from a photograph… how actual hair behaves!

We love inspiration photos. Bring them. Bring five! Let AI help you find the exact look you love. But let your trained professional determine how, and how quickly, we can safely get YOUR hair there.

AI is an amazing tool. But AI is not your hairstylist. 🤖✂️

(Using silver as the AI example because achieving a true silver is almost always a multi-session process and one of the highest-maintenance colors to achieve and maintain.)
