Essential oils are natural aromatic compounds found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants.
They can be both beautifully and powerfully fragrant. If you have ever enjoyed the gift of a rose, a walk by a field of lavender, or the smell of fresh cut mint, you have experienced the aromatic qualities of essential oils. In addition to giving plants their distinctive smells, essential oils provide plants with protection against predators and disease and play a role in plant pollination. Essential oils are non water-based phytochemicals made up of volatile aromatic compounds. Although they are fat soluble, they do not include fatty lipids or acids found in vegetable and animal oils. Essential oils are very clean, almost crisp, to the touch and are immediately absorbed by the skin. Pure, unadulterated essential oils are translucent and range in color from crystal clear to deep blue. Try this at home: Squeeze the peel of a ripe orange. The fragrant residue on your hand is full of essential oils. When was the last time you deep cleaned your washing machine?
Here is a great recipe to get that mouldy smell out of your machine.
TOP LOADER
✨ Fill your machine with hot water
✨ Add 4 cups of vinegar and 1 cup of baking soda to your water. Let it fizz away!
✨ Add 5 drops On Guard, 3 drops Lemon & 3 drops Tea tree or 10 drops Abode.
✨ Let it sit for one hour before starting the cycle.
✨ Close the lid and finish the cycle.
FRONT LOADER WASHER
✨Use the hottest setting available
✨Select the extra rinse setting
✨Pour 1 cup Vinegar into the detergent compartment and add 2 drops each of On Guard, Tea Tree and Lemon oil to it.
✨Add 1/2 cup of baking soda into the drum of the washer.
✨Run the full cycle and let the vinegar and baking soda + oils do its magic!
✨ Clean the inside of the drum with a sponge & clean the inside of the seal (this is where the majority of the nastiness from the front loaders comes from).

There are a lot of rumors (some true, some false) about Eucalyptus. Is it safe for pets? Can it be diffused, used topically, or used in cleaning? I think it is time to set the record straight...
What is Eucalyptus Essential Oil?
Eucalyptus is a powerhouse for respiratory support and has both cleansing and immune booting properties as well. Emotionally, Eucalyptus can be very calming during stressful events. It is a great option for animals exhibiting frustration, anger, or clingy behavior.
This oil is one of my go-to oils to include in recipes such as respiratory support sprays & diffuser blends, muscle rubs, DIY bug sprays, and more!
Eucalyptus is not always the best choice for some small animals, check out how to use this oil with animals below ↓↓↓
Using Eucalyptus Essential Oil with Animals:
🐴 For horses, cattle, and goats - apply topically by dropping 4-6 drops over the chest for respiratory support, or directly to an area of concern such as tense muscles. Eucalyptus EO can be diluted to cover a larger area but is not required for large farm animals.
🐶 For dogs - Diffuse 2-3 drops in a water-based diffuser for respiratory support. For topical use, dilute to 1% (2 drops per 10 mL carrier oil) and apply a small amount to your hands apply to the area of concern.
🐱 For cats - Use caution around cats with sensitive respiratory tracts. Leave door open when diffusing so your cat has the option to leave the room. Not recommended for topical use with cats as a single oil.
⚠️ Avoid or use caution with very young animals and seizure-prone animals.
