I-70 eastbound closed west of Vail I-70 eastbound is closed between Exit 171 and Exit 173 due to “traffic impacts,” according to CDOT. Traffic cameras show commuters backed up as far as Dowd Junction. There is no estimated time of reopening....

GOOD NEWS! 📢 | Glenwood Canyon
In just over two weeks, crews have been able to clean , fill roughly 200 “super sacks” with slide debris to serve as temporary rockfall protection, and place temporary asphalt in order to reopen I-70 through Glenwood Canyon to a limited capacity. is finishing up the last details before opening up one lane in each direction in the canyon by tomorrow afternoon. Engineers have conducted inspections over this past week to check for structural integrity and have given it the “safe to open” approval once maintenance activities are complete. Please be mindful of the reduced speed limit and prepare for delays as traffic moves in its new, temporary configuration. For additional travel updates visit cotrip.org.
