On January 26, 2024 my water broke around 5am, and we casually made our way to the hospital around 8:30am. I thankfully was feeling good and not feeling any contractions. Since I wasn’t progressing much they put me on Pitocin and hours later asked for the epidural after the contractions were getting harder to manage. The overnight hours turned horrible, I had feeling in my left hip and was trying to work through the pain. By morning I was purely exhausted and so sick. Her head was large and sitting on my left hip and she was having trouble getting positioned into the birth canal. Thank goodness for the most incredible nurse and she kept me calm and called the anesthesiologist back and they re-did my epidural and for safety added a spinal tap. As I was going past the 24 hour mark of my water breaking and only dilating to a 7 the conversation shifted to cesarean. It was such a hard decision and felt like I had given up but we needed to get her out. O.R. was prepped and ready for us (that was an outer body experience and I was a complete mess) but thankfully at 12:04pm on January 27, 2024 the first cry came out of this little lady and she’s been living life ever since! We love you Addison Yoshiko 🩷 This mama is in ALL the feelings as this girl spends her last day as a baby!

2024 is the year where 2 became 3 🧑‍🧑‍🧒 This year has presented us with some of our hardest moments & at the same time given us the most beautiful memories. Cheers to 2025! 🥂
