Congrats to our Week 4 Players of the Game!

I’m sorry for the inconvenience but they decided to shut the street down an hour early. I was informed it would be 5:00. Again I’m sorry for the misinformation.

Congrats to our Week 3 Players of the Game!

Here we go!

It’s happening.

Main street will be closed starting Thursday at 5:00 through Saturday for Fall Fest. We will close at 5:00 on Friday and be closed Saturday. Enjoy Fall Fest!

Sorry for the late post but Jacob will be gone the beginning of this week. He will be back on Thursday at 1:00. Thanks!

I’m proud to announce that the legend Larry Nordstedt is the Grand Marshall of the 2022 Fall Festival parade! Larry said “there’s people way more deserving than me”. Well sir, I respectfully disagree! Congrats Larry!

I will be taking my son on a college tour Tuesday, September 6th. It’s a morning tour so I will be back in the shop no later than 12:30. Jacob will be open at 9:00.

I will be leaving at 5:30 every Friday starting tomorrow, September 2nd to support Valley football. Thanks and GO HORNETS!

Update: Power is back on currently

Power is currently out at the shop. I will post when we get power back! Sorry for the inconvenience.

I appreciate everyone weathering the storm over the past month as we were able to take some time off and recharge a bit. We are currently looking into ways to amp up efficiency and even looking to add a third barber if we can find a good fit. I know there were times where it was frustrating to walk in and find a two hour wait, but again we are working on that. We appreciate your patronage and patience!

This month I celebrated 10 years in the shop. I don’t have the words to express my gratitude to all of you. Whether you were there for a short time or are still coming in… I appreciate you! Here’s an excerpt from the Ark Valley News this week in the “Looking Back” section. Here’s to the next 10!!

Nick Lewis joined Larry's Barber Shop on Main Street. Lewis had recently graduated from Old Town Barber College in Wichita. Larry Nordstedt hadn't had a second barber in his shop since 1974, but he had a hunch about Lewis. Lewis was born in Wichita but lived in Valley Center in 1987 and 1988 when his father, Jay Lewis, was a youth pastor at Calvary Baptist Church. He had moved back to town in 2007 with his wife, Beth; they have four children: Aydin, Avry, Jaxson and Josslyn. Lewis went to Butler Community College on a vocal music scholarship for one year before getting into social work. He previously worked as a case manager for underprivileged children and their families

I will be gone Wednesday through Saturday this week. I know I was just gone a couple weeks ago but I have a very small window between kids’ sports to get vacation time in. Thanks for understanding.

Ready for some Hornet football!

I will be on vacation next week 7/25-7/29. Jacob will be holding it down while I’m gone. Expect longer wait times next week. Thanks!!

Tate is an awesome young man with a lot going for him. The Schurle family needs prayer warriors!

Prayers for former Hornet linebacker Tate Schurle, Class of 2021, as he is hospitalized after a significant seizure last night.

Since the 4th lands on our normal day off, we will be closed Tuesday the 5th. Everyone have a safe and happy Independence Day!

Unfortunately due to rising prices in all aspects of life, I’m forced to raise prices. Hopefully we level out at some point and I won’t have to raise again anytime soon. Thanks for understanding!

Update: Only have two boxes of Jalepeño left.

I’ll have Yoder beef sticks up at the shop. Josslyn
Is selling them for her softball team. 4 for $5.00. I can also deliver within Valley. Message me or stop by if interested. Thanks!!

Unfortunately I threw my back out this weekend. I’m trying to get scheduled for an injection and am waiting on a call back. I will most likely not be in Tuesday 3/22 or Wednesday 3/23 unless they can get me in in the morning.

I will not be at work on Saturday. I have a birthday that has something to do with a hill or whatever. Anyway my wife has something planned for me. Jacob will man the shop! Have a great day!

Jacob will be gone Saturday the 19th. I will be here normal hours. Have a great weekend!

Sorry for the last minute info but I’m going to take the opportunity to watch my son wrestle tomorrow. Jacob will be there to man the shop. Thanks and have a great weekend.

Welp it was inevitable I suppose. As many people as I’ve come into contact with since the beginning of all of this, I’ve finally tested positive for Covid. Thankfully I’m fully vaccinated and as long as I’m symptom free after this week, I will be back to work next week. Sorry for this inconvenience. Give a little grace to Jacob this week as I’m sure there will be longer than normal wait times. I hate missing work but I know the Lord is in control and that gives me peace.

I started running a fever this afternoon. I will keep everyone posted on my status but I will definitely be gone tomorrow.

We will be closing at 5:00 Friday 12/31 and closed Saturday 1/1. Thank you for another awesome year!

We will be closed Friday the 24th and Saturday the 25th. Merry Christmas!

I get another back injection in the morning. I should be back around 10:30. Also, I will be out of town Thursday, Friday and Saturday. This will be my last trip of the year. Jacob’s got it! Thanks!

Sorry for the late notice but I will not be in today as I’m not feeling well. I’m vaccinated so I’m hoping it’s just a little stomach bug and I’ll be back tomorrow. Jacob is there to man the shop!
