Had the absolute pleasure of teaching a class at Empire Beauty School last night! Refreshing to see future professionals be so enthusiastic about taking in all the information!! I very much look forward to giving more classes here in the future. We had a blast!

I’m so grateful that after 11 years - I’m able to give back so much of the knowledge that I’ve acquired, and has been bestowed upon me throughout my career. Hair nerds for life, baby!!! 🤓

This client was growing out some EXTREMELY chunky/uneven face-framing and layers, done at a cosmetology school last year. As difficult as that was for her to go through, it served as a bit of a lesson. It is important to note that every great stylist had to start somewhere!!! Just please understand that in going to a hair school, it WILL be cheap - but it WON’T be backed by experience. Not that you can’t stumble across some talented up-and-comings, but enter at your own risk!⚠️🫣🙃

Regardless - she was patient in growing it out, and I was able to give her the beautifully soft face framing and blended layers she’d been hoping for! It was therapeutic for us both. 💆🏽‍♀️💇🏻‍♀️

**OH, and let us not forget - THE FINISH IS EVERYTHING!!! Shiny, BOUNCY blow-drys are massively important! As well as any other style that is going to accentuate the hair. Showcase your gorgeous work by having a beautiful finish, and you are guaranteed to bring back repeat clients. You can create the best haircut in the world, but it won’t ever be reflected without the proper styling. That is a major part of the experience that guests show up for and look forward to. 🤓

🚨🚨🚨🚨THE BIG REVEAL‼️🤩😍

This is my daughter Norah who has been begging for calico (aka “rockstar”) hair for the last 2 months. I have shied away from it in part because I’ve never used permanent color or lightener of any kind on her hair, in also because I know the work I’ll have cut out for me once it’s time to change it.🥲😂

So, reluctantly at first - I spent 5+ hours coloring my girl’s beautiful hair! And to be quite honest, she was so happy with the end result that it was worth every minute!

I used a bricklay, pinwheel pattern - alternating blonde, dark brown, and a bright copper to create the effect of a calico cat. 🐈

Norah only wears her hair curly, so it was imperative that I used high impact, block color technique to ensure that even with all of her volume, the color would still be prominent. 🌟
