So apparently, we have some awards to talk about.

SugarThis was named Runner-Up for Best Hair Removal in Best of Clark County 2026.

We won Best Hair Removal in 2024, took Runner-Up in 2025, and held onto our Runner-Up spot again this year.

And I have to tell you, I almost missed celebrating it.

Before the results came out, I received word that we were a Top 5 finalist. Knowing how many of you had nominated us, voted for us, sent the link to family members and rallied behind SugarThis, I was a little disappointed.

I figured Top 5 was where we landed, decided to save some money in the marketing budget, and didn't even order the newspaper ad this year. 😂

Then the results came out.

Runner-Up.

Whoops.

And with nearly three times the voter participation this year, maintaining our spot feels pretty darn good.

Congratulations to Just Peachy Wax for taking home Best Hair Removal again this year. There's room in Clark County for great businesses doing great work, and we're happy to be among them.

But this year also has me thinking.

Best of Clark County asks a lot of you guys. First we ask you to nominate us. Then we ask you to vote. Then come the reminders. And the next year, we start all over again.

I'm incredibly grateful that you continue to show up for us, but I also value your attention.

When SugarThis lands on your page, I want you to read it because there might be something genuinely worth knowing: something new, useful, funny, an appointment you wanted, or a little piece of what's happening around here. I never want you thinking, Oh lord, they're asking me to vote again. 😂

So I'm starting to think a little outside the box about where we put that energy and how SugarThis continues to stand out.

Which brings me to something else pretty cool.

SugarThis was also recognized by Better Business Rate as "Best Hair Removal in Vancouver for 2026".

This one works a little differently.

The recognition is driven by a business's Google reputation and reviews, and it isn't limited to sugaring businesses. SugarThis was considered within the broader hair-removal category across Vancouver. Which means we were standing alongside waxing salons and other hair-removal businesses throughout the area.

We were recognized for the reputation you've already helped us build.

And I'll admit this felt validating.

Because as much as I want more of Clark County to discover what sugaring is, I don't just want SugarThis to be known as a great sugaring studio.

I want us to be known for great hair removal. Period.

One recognition reminds me just how much our community supports us.

The other reminds me that the work itself is being noticed.

I'm proud of both for very different reasons.

I don't know yet what we'll chase next. Maybe we keep showing up for Best of Clark County. Maybe we put more energy toward industry awards. Maybe we find something we haven't even thought of yet.

But after three years of being recognized locally, I'm starting to wonder:

What's the next room SugarThis belongs in?

This is the day we make impact. This is the day we remind the community that SugarThis is here and here to stay. As the industry continues to grow, we’re proud to say we were the first sugaring salon in Clark County. After 10 years in the game and 7 years serving Vancouver, we’ve sugared thousands of bodies, built an incredible community, and dedicated ourselves to mastering this craft.

Now we’re preparing for the next chapter.

Shelby and I plan to begin offering training classes to local newcomers entering the sugaring industry helping shape the future of sugaring right here in our community!And truthfully? This competition is only going to get harder every year. We want SugarThis to continue being known as the place where standards are set, skills are built, and excellence is the expectation.But first we have to make it to the next round.
