Clinical Bodywork
Helping people move with less pain through manual therapy & nervous system care.

Sitting at a desk all day can show up in more places than your neck.
When overhead movement feels restricted, I’ll often work through the teres major and lat while passively moving the arm.
Instead of only treating a stationary muscle, I get to feel how that area responds through movement.
Here, my hands act almost like a tennis or lacrosse ball under the calf while he actively moves his ankle. I can adjust my contact, support the calf, and work between the two heads of the muscle as he moves.
It’s another way I incorporate active movement into bodywork.
Sometimes the client helps with the treatment.
Here I’m adding active ankle movement while maintaining contact with the tissue. It allows me to work with the area while the ankle is actually moving, rather than only working on it passively.
Sometimes kids don’t need to “calm down.”
They need someone safe to calm with.
Today my daughter and I laid on the vibroacoustic table together. She talked, rambled, expressed whatever came to mind, and I stayed with her.
That’s co-regulation too.
Moms and littles can share the space, settle together, and let the body do what it needs to do. 🤍
I’ve had the privilege of working with her for the last 2–3 years.
Strength matters in this work—not for force, but so I can safely support, reposition, and care for the people who trust me with their bodies.
She’s one of the reasons I keep showing up at the gym. 🤍
Sometimes positioning is everything.
When my hand fits right into that upper trap/neck area, I can support the tissue without forcing it.
Most people think this tool only “scrapes.”
Here I’m using the edge of the instrument in a sweeping motion to glide through the tissue. Different parts of the instrument create different sensations and give me different options depending on what I’m feeling.
No two treatments are exactly the same.
Most people think Graston is only about the scraping edge.
Here I’m using the k***s on the GT1 (bar handle) to perform what’s called a swivel using focused pressure while changing direction through the tissue.
It’s another way I adapt the instrument based on what I’m feeling under my hands. Every session is different.
Most people call this “scraping” or “blading.”
The technique is called Graston Technique®, and it’s one of the tools I use to help improve tissue mobility and movement. Depending on what I’m feeling, I might glide the instrument, use the edge, or even use the k***s for more focused pressure.
It’s never about making the tissue hurt, it’s about helping it move better.
During this session I remembered using a simple dowel rod and decided to experiment with it. I like the leverage it gave me and allowed even pressure while using my body weight.
I’m always learning, experimenting, refining my approach.
