Days 4 and 5 of were incredible and crazy busy in the best way.

I taught 2 workshops!

- The Sew a Jewelry Dumpling Bag was first and went really well! Everyone finished and the dumpling bags looked adorable! Thank you, , for providing fun, colorful fabric options that everyone mixed and matched and sewed into great little jewelry pouches!

- The second afternoon class I taught was Crochet Your Own Cactus Pincushion. Great class with great students very focused on counting stitches and lovely cotton yarn generously provided by the sponsor 😁

- I also tried UV Resin for the first time! Making earrings and rings with teaching was great fun! I experimented with little crochet flowers I had made and mod podged beforehand. Pretty results, but next time I want to play with dried flowers instead.

- The last day I finally got to do some sewing! The Chubby Craft Tote taught by Yvonne from was one of my favorite classes! I learned to create the inset pocket and had never sewn a tote before. It came together beautifully and Yvonne was a great teacher.

- Closing Ceremony and everyone gathering to take the big group photo on the stairs are both part of the last day tradition of . It’s a joy to be surrounded by so many happy crafters as we wrap up with lots of “see you next year”s and hugs.

Every year I leave inspired and tired, but creatively fulfilled and already looking forward to the next one!

Day 3 of was a blast!
- A silver bow necklace class with . So much fun! Somehow, I really love hammering metal! (shown with wire wrapped bead hoop earrings made on Day 2 and a matcha bowl I made at in Irvine)
- Working with brands panel where and were incredibly generous sharing their many years of expertise. I took a lot of notes!! Left the room feeling very inspired.
- Silver stacking rings with . Another great jewelry class with hammering AND soldering!
- And the evening events were Iron Craft, a very entertaining crafting competition, and Wanderings, where attendees go all out with themed rooms that we get to visit and experience. Had so much fun with these that I barely took photos!

Very full day that is very much what Craftcation is all about! I ended up with more jewelry classes this year, but there were so many options that everyone really gets to craft their own experience 😉

As with the Celine Cowl and Marlene Cardigan, this little leaf lace stitch pattern lends itself nicely as an elegant embellishment to an otherwise streamlined design.

This lovely pair of fingerless gloves are incredibly soft, and make for a great gift and stash-buster!

They are knit seamlessly in the round and only use less than 170 yards of fingering-weight yarn! Instructions include two sizes and two lengths.

Little stash busters! Happened across this free pattern and loved it as a little something to make for my girls. Who doesn’t need a positive potato in their lives!

The pattern is from Leanna’s Designs and was super easy and quick to make.

I used Knit Picks Swish Worsted (more like a dk-weight) in Doe color from stash, size E/4 (3.5mm) hook, and 8mm safety eyes, as called for in the pattern. Knit Picks Swish DK would have been great too! I’m making more with the Squirrel Heather color, which might be more potato-y and less you-know-what-y, lol.

The NEW Emme Sleeveless Sweater knitting pattern!

Little sleeveless sweaters are easy staples in any wardrobe, especially when they are as effortless as the Emme.

The Emme Sweater hits just below the waist and has deep armholes, making it easy to wear as a layer, under or over other tops.

Knit it seamlessly from the bottom up in the round.

The sample shown here is knit in a lovely linen and alpaca blend that gives the sweater a delicate, yet rustic appeal. Easily substitute another soft fingering-weight yarn that will allow the lace stitch definition to come through.

The sweater is knit to a slightly cropped length, but can be easily lengthened by knitting extra rounds before the armhole split. Lace is both charted and written out.

Wardrobe staples, like this cabled vest, are essential for effortless style. With its beautifully finished crew neckline, deep armholes, and eye-catching cable design, this is the piece you’ll want to knit now for your wardrobe.

Cable design is both charted and written out. Vest as shown is knit in a wool and alpaca blend, which can easily be substituted with a similar, dk-weight wool blend.

This vest was featured in my video on picking up and knitting stitches - which you can view here.
