Why does one horse release SO much during a massage… while another barely reacts?
A big release doesn’t necessarily mean “more work was needed,” and a quiet session doesn’t mean the massage wasn’t effective. Sometimes the most meaningful changes are subtle—softer tissue, a longer stride, a relaxed expression, or simply a horse feeling more comfortable.
The goal isn’t to make a horse “release” as much as possible. It’s to listen to the horse, work with their body, and support better comfort and movement.

I'm the face behind Elite Equine Massage! I am a Florida based equine sports massage therapist. I have been a part of this industry for a little over eight years now and could not love it more! Being able to help horses everyday is a dream.
I am a proud wife, and mom of two wild and crazy boys. We have two horses we get to call our own, the best mare of all time(of course I'm biased but many will agree), who gets to live her best retired life and a gelding named Moe, we have the best rescue pitty named Miley and a half way feral cat named Sox along with some chickens.
I started pursuing this career after a long time admiring it and jumped in head first. The amount of knowledge I have gained along the journey is beyond measure with the help of some amazing people! I still continue to learn every single day. I also have met some of my favorite people along the way and for that I could not be more grateful!

SHOULDERS
They work so hard and often require a lot of targeted attention during a massage session. During this targeted work I often learn so much about your horse. Do they tend to drive more with the forehand, have they overused their shoulders in the past, does your horse hold lots of tension from anxiety? Shoulder work can clue me into these things and so much more!
