The GAPS diet, developed by Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, aims to improve gut health and address various psychological and physical issues. It is based on the idea that many chronic health problems stem from an unhealthy gut microbiome.
# # # Key Principles of the GAPS Diet
1. **Whole Foods**: Emphasizes fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, fish, eggs, and homemade bone broth.
2. **Elimination of Processed Foods**: Excludes processed foods, sugars, and grains to reduce gut dysbiosis and inflammation.
3. **Fermented Foods**: Encourages foods like sauerkraut and yogurt to promote beneficial gut bacteria.
4. **Gradual Introduction**: Follows a staged approach, starting with restrictive foods and gradually reintroducing others.
5. **Bone Broth**: Rich in collagen and amino acids, essential for healing the gut lining.
# # # Stages of the GAPS Diet
1. **Introductory Diet**: Six stages with easily digestible foods like soups and broths.
2. **Full GAPS Diet**: Gradual incorporation of a wider variety of foods.
3. **Reintroduction of Foods**: Adds more foods back while monitoring for reactions.
# # # Benefits of the GAPS Diet
- **Improved Digestion**: Reduces symptoms like bloating and gas.
- **Mental Clarity**: May enhance mood and cognitive function.
- **Enhanced Immunity**: Supports a stronger immune system.
Consulting a healthcare professional before starting the GAPS diet is essential to ensure nutritional needs are met. Overall, the GAPS diet promotes gut health, potentially leading to better well-being.

Did you know exercising in water can have various benefits:
❤ better blood and lymph flow due to the hydrostatic pressure which can lead to a decrease in heart rate and blood pressure
💪improvement in muscular and skeletal strenght due to multi directional resistance
🤸♀️ better mobility of fascia and muscles due to buoyancy and warmth
🧠 balancing the nervous system through calming signals received when you are in the water. This causes the release of serotonin, dopamine and relaxin aiding in pain management, stress relief en general well-being

What’s up with Lipedema? I am seeing more individuals figuring out they may have this disorder as it is fairly common. The main symptom of lipedema is a buildup of fat in the arms and legs. Other symptoms include pain, swelling, loose skin, and easy bruising. The texture of fat beneath the skin can feel like peas, rice, or walnuts. Symptoms often begin at times of hormonal change, such as puberty, pregnancy, and menopause.
As far as management for lipedema there are some treatments and self care measures you can look into which I will explain on my next post. When did you figure out you may have lipedema?
