Owner Shaun Thomas has been in the industry for over almost twenty years and takes his work seriously:
"GLAM is my baby and my biggest accomplishment in my career. Once I learned my basic skills, I nurtured my abilities through various avenues such as seminars, classes, webinars-really just anything I can wrap my brain around to further my education. I have always loved to learn, and hit the ground running in this industry, fueled by a passion to create and succeed. I pride myself in being adept in everything from basic services to advanced coloring techniques to the most intricate principles behind hair design. I excel at applying and maintaining hair extensions, guaranteeing a seamless blend and color match each time. My latest area of expertise is concentrated in specialty hand painting color techniques such as balayage (a French method of hand-painting the highlights exactly where we want them for a soft, natural sun kissed effect with less dramatic grow out). I have had the pleasure of traveling with my career to work and learn across the country. From New York to Las Vegas, I have trained and received cashing from industry figureheads like Nick Arrojo, Beth Minardi, and Candy Shaw. I've been fortunate to work with many local and semi-national publications, landing me the opportunity a few years ago to become a contributing editor and lead editorial stylist for Southern Beauty magazine (now an online e-zine, so make sure to check them out). I am grateful beyond words for the opportunities that have come my way over the years. I have to say the biggest motivation for my choosing this profession is the feeling I still have when I like what I see in the mirror. No matter what kind of day a person is having, it can be turned around by that fresh, fantastic, beautiful feeling that comes with getting out of your stylist's chair feeling unstoppable. I also remember those instances that weren't so great. I thought to myself "Now, I wasn't that demanding. How in the world did this go awry?" I have a fundamental desire in me to learn how to do good hair and be as effective of a communicator as I can be (though we all know you can't always please everyone, but I DO try).
