Day 2 of the Covet & Mane experience. This is my second year attending this event and its definitely something I will do every year. I can’t wait to come home and share the things I’ve learned with my clients and in my salon. From coloring, cutting, branding, textures, and so much more. I think I worked so hard these past seven years, and this last year with my injury, just felt burnt out. I’m so thankful for this opportunity to put a spark back into my work flow, and continue to grow in education and building relationships with other stylists. Also such a blessing to introduce Mollie Marks to the continuing education world of this amazing industry

WHAT DO YOU SEE?

I see someone who installed extensions and totally shattered her ends to blend the extensions. This should never happen. If your stylist does this she may just be a youtube extension stylist. Literally three inches of her hair were thinned with thinning shears.

PEOPLE BETTER PAY ATTENTION!! I have always used apps to never change the hair, but to get rid of annoying backgrounds or if the lighting was off. So it popped up let AI choose a hairstyle for you. I did it to a picture of myself but I thought this was a better representation. This was a picture of a install I did. It was the first hairstyle I picked. THIS IS NOT WHAT HER HAIR LOOKED LIKE. BUT YOU WOULD NOT KNOW IT IF I DID NOT TELL YOU. It looks better than the hair I did in the original picture. I’m truly terrified of what AI could do to our industry and people won’t know it until they get their hair done. Think you are going to walk out like Beyoncé and walk out looking like boo boo the fool. Did I mention you could also use AI for your videos on this app that I so innocently you to use all the time when I posted daily. I’m gonna raw dog it every day going forward. Ugly background, bug in their face… I don’t care. What you see if what you are doing to get over here.

This popped up on my fb memories today, and although this looks good, the work I do now makes this look like trash. There are those who do extensions, and then there are those, who really DO EXTENSIONS. Know the difference. It ain’t bragging if you can back it up. Do your research. There are people out here legit doing extensions with no real training, or a two hour certification. This pic was from last year and I had two years in at this point. It’s not just about looking good, it’s about the damage being caused by people not knowing what the hell they are doing, and I’m tired of it. 🤷‍♀️

Can you wear extensions with curly hair?

These curly extensions match her curl pattern perfectly. I love how these turned out. After five installs this week, Im headed for three days of learning, and I’m so excited. Travel, hair, and hotels are my jam.
