Last Saturday, my closest friends and family threw me a surprise 50th birthday party! It took weeks to plan and a small army to execute. I thought my husband was acting extra weird (but then again it’s my husband 🤷🏻‍♀️).

I’m an introvert so this is the last way I would choose to celebrate my bday. In fact, I disappeared to Tokyo to celebrate alone 😂 My bestie in red is urging me to dance down the walkway. Notice how I instinctively step back, ready to run away, mouthing “that’s not gonna happen”.

Grateful. I’m grateful for the last 50 years of life lessons (good and bad). Grateful for my beautiful children and family. Grateful for the meaningful friendships and relationships in my life. I can’t wait for the next 50 years! But would like time to slow down, please!

We were so lucky to visit Rome for the Jubilee and during Holy Week. Little did we know that so much would change in the days since our visit. As a non-Catholic, I was surprised by how much a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica would move me. The beauty, the majesty, the art, the scale all left me speechless. Despite my family’s doubt, I made it all the way to the top of the Dome. And it was so worth it. Rest in peace. Pope Francis 1936 - 2025.
