May is Mental Health Awareness Month 🌿

One thing I’ve learned through the years — both personally and through working closely with so many people — is that our bodies carry what we don’t always say out loud.

People hold tension from grief, pressure, caregiving, burnout, heartbreak, fear, and simply trying to hold it all together. Chronic stress and emotional overload often show up physically through tension, headaches, fatigue, poor sleep, inflammation, and nervous system dysregulation.

Massage therapy creates space to pause, breathe, release, and reconnect with yourself again.

It’s more than relaxation. It’s support for the nervous system, the body, and overall well-being.

In a fast-paced world, taking care of your mental and physical health is not a luxury — it’s part of maintaining your health.

Be gentle with yourself this month
and check on your friends and family. No one knows what anyone has going on, unless you ask. 🤍

Remember you are loved and your life matters.

Taking care of yourself doesn’t stop when you’re traveling.

Even being in this field, I still have to remind myself to take care of my own body. Long hours on the road take a toll… but having the right support, making stops, and actually listening to my body made all the difference.

Don’t wait until you’re in pain to slow down and take care of yourself.

Make time for movement, recovery, and care 💛

Long hours on the road can take a real toll on your body… especially your hips, low back, and SI joint.

As someone who works hands-on with the body every day—and is currently feeling it myself—I can’t stress this enough:

How you drive matters.
A few simple adjustments can make a big difference: • Sit all the way back in your seat (don’t hover forward)
• Keep your hips level—avoid leaning or favoring one side
• Use support (lumbar roll or cushion) to maintain neutral spine
• Take breaks to get out, walk, and reset your body
• Keep both feet grounded—no twisting or tucking
It’s not just about comfort… it’s about protecting your body long-term.

❄️ Snow shoveling tip from a massage therapist ❄️

If you’re heading outside, please don’t sacrifice your back for a clean driveway. Snow is heavy. Your spine is precious.

***Shovel smart: • Warm up first (yes, even 2 minutes matters)
• Bend at your hips and knees, not your waist
• Keep the shovel close to your body
• Lift with your legs, not your back
• Avoid twisting — turn your whole body instead
• Take breaks (your spine isn’t a machine)

A few small adjustments can save you weeks of pain.
Stay warm. Stay safe. And if your back is already talking to you — listen. 🖤
