Real talk.

I keep seeing all these posts in Facebook groups of people asking for full highlight, root smudge, haircut, Etc.

They're looking for somebody that's "cheap or affordable or won't break the bank, or someone who does it in their home so it's not as expensive."

It saddens me that as a hair stylist who has a career and a small business we're always having to justify our services.

In this picture there are six tubes of color and one shampoo. The shampoo alone is $19. The total I paid is $85 and some change.

When I first started doing hair 23 years ago a woman's haircut was $35 and a full foil was $55. If we were to charge those prices today we would no longer be in business.

Like other small businesses we have overhead, taxes, etc.

SO PLEASE PLEASE and I mean this with LOVE stop looking for cheap hair services and start giving our career some respect.

The best part about being a stylist and small business owner is the clients who share their lives with you.

The good, the bad, the ugly.

Knowing they choose you, they trust you and they share you is just a perk.
