The Skin Haven VB

Good evening everyone. This will be the hardest post that I have ever had to write but it’s time. I will be retiring from esthetics effective December 18th. This was such a hard decision to make, but a needed one. Doing esthetics for 14 years and being in the Navy for 20 years has taken a toll on my body that I really need to start addressing.
This has been the best career I have ever had. Now don’t get me wrong, I LOVED the Navy, but I didn’t get to physically change people’s lives and in this job I did. It’s going to be so hard to not continue, but I’m going to embrace this next season of life (quote from my therapist lol)
To say that I will miss all my clients and friends is an understatement, continued in comments

What can I say! Went to work for the first time since started treatment and these gorgeous plaques were waiting for me. So say that I am grateful, is an understatement. I am so so thankful for everyone that voted for this little place in Virginia Beach called The Skin Haven VB. It’s not glitz and glamour or machines. It’s just me with my hands making people feel good about themselves and bringing out their best skin. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I am getting stronger everyday and will be back in September.

I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD BE SHARING SOMETHING LIKE THIS…
After years of silently battling an eating disorder, things have reached a point where I need to step away and fully focus on healing. Starting next week, I’ll be in a Partial Hospitalization Program 5 days a week for some time.
This means I’ll be pausing all appointments for the rest of July and August. In September, I plan to return on a very limited schedule.
Thank you for your love, support, and loyalty over the years. Your understanding means the world to me. This isn’t goodbye-it’s a step toward coming back stronger.

Had the pleasure of having my niece visit for the weekend and had to give her the royal treatment with a facial and lash lift. These are her natural lashes. I used XL shields. She was beyond happy 😃 .

This is going to be a long post, please bear with me though, I promise it’s worth it. Monday morning I went and played pickleball from 7:30 to 9:15 I was gassed and headed home.
I relax a little bit and then get a wild hair up my ass to rearrange the garage because we are putting our house on the market next April. There are 50 year old cabinets out there that just had to come down that day. You know Monday one of the hottest days of the year. So I start ripping the cabinets out and moving them to the driveway.
Then I rearrange it because now the cabinets were out there was so much space and I’m obsessed with organization. Well I’m dripping sweat and drinking water. At this point I’m like I don’t need know man I got this. However, truth be told I needed a man to help move the big shelving units, but I did it. So I’m continuing on decluttering and putting things in totes.
I’m finished and literally soaked through, get in the shower and lay on the couch for a small nap. Wake up before hubby gets home. He comes in and see’s all of the cabinets in the driveway and just shakes his head. He knows when I get something in my head I do it.
So we leave for pickleball league that night. You play 4 games with doubles partners. Well I played the first game and was feeling a certain kind of way. Dizzy, nauseated, fatigued, cramping, all of it. So your girl tapped out. I went to the shade and Kevin came over and checked on me. Another gentleman went and got me ice to put in my armpits to bring down my body temp. Nothing was helping. They got the golf cart and took me to the ladies locker room where it’s a meat locker it’s so cold. I stay in there for a while but my body is acting all kinds of weird. A nurse happened to be playing and heard about me and came and checked on me.
Then the panic attack started. It went straight to “bitch you’re dying” so I have panic attacks quite a bit but I knew this one was bad. My hands seized up, I couldn’t walk or talk. I managed to get them to get Kevin for me. He comes in and I’m like I have to leave I can’t be around here having a full blown panic attack. We start walking to car and I’m walking like I got new legs

Hey everyone! Did my second CO2 laser and went harder this time. YES, some of these pictures look bad, but it wasn’t painful and I was well taken care of. I still followed all of the post treatment protocols and lived in aquaphor, but can tell you without a doubt this has been life changing for me.
- I was ready to get a consultation for a lower face lift and neck lift and now that’s off the table because I am so so happy with the results.

OK this is going to be a very long post and the videos are long as well, but I do hope you watch them. Almost 2 weeks ago I finally went and had a CO2 laser treatment done by .va specifically Owner Rachel King and , I had made appts before and cancelled because I was terrified of the pain.
I numbed my skin with cream for an hour before, then while on the bed they gave me laughing gas and numbing injections.
THIS WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! I didn’t feel mostly anything, took about 45 minutes and afterwards my face was hot, however it wasn’t that hot that I didn’t make my husband stop and get Crumbl cookies lol 😆
I followed all of their post instructions and I am absolutely over the moon with the results. I have already scheduled my next one and can’t wait, now that I know what to expect.
