When this gorgeous grad booked, she was clear: she wanted lashes that looked natural but still elevated, and most importantly, safe for her natural lashes.

So naturally, she sought out a lash artist in Virginia Beach who makes that their priority🤗

That alignment matters to me deeply, and it’s exactly why every new client starts with a thorough consultation.

Before I ever start lashing, we talk about it ALL, your lifestyle, your aesthetic goals, and most importantly, the health and condition of your natural lashes.

After chatting, we landed on a wispy textured hybrid set in chocolate brown.

The hybrid style adds that beautiful darkness and density to the lash line, while the wispy texture keeps everything feeling light and effortless.

And because this was a special occasion, we mapped them in a cat eye shape (longest lengths on the outer corners) for that elongated, snatched finish she was after.

Natural lash health is always my #1 priority, so every decision I make is intentional, from the style, to the length, to the curl.

April showers bring May flowers isn’t just cute spring theme.

It’s actually about hope and growth, and trusting that hard seasons are doing something, even when you can’t see it.

You can’t have the good without the bad. You can’t have the light without the dark. And you can’t grow beautiful things without both the storm and the sun. 🌨️☀️

That’s the story I wanted these lashes to tell.

The design is asymmetrical with one eye representing the storm and the other representing the flowers, but together they tell the whole story.

The transition from eye to eye shows the storm clouds, dark and moody, but also temporary, and the sun bursting through the grey, bright and unstoppable.

Deep blues and moody grays melt toward the light, where bright yellow and white spikes radiate outward like sun rays finally breaking free from the clouds.

The other eye is all the beautiful and wonderful things that come after the storm.

Four shades of greens layered together, bring the grass and stems to life with depth and dimension, and iridescent flower decals crown each flower stem, bringing a pop of color and shine.

I used the clown core technique for the stems. This was my first time trying it since the class…There’s definitely a learning curve, but I’m into it.🤗

You have to grow through what you go through🌱

And if you’re in a stormy season right now, I hope this set is a little reminder that the sun is already breaking through.

If you’re leaving Virginia Beach to go to Disney, you OBVIOUSLY can’t show up to the most magical place on earth with your regular lashes.

She’s normally an all black lash girl, but for Disney she said let’s do something fun… Kevin from Up🎈🏠

She gave me three requirements: mermaid tinsel, purple/blue/green, and fun.

I mocked up a few options, knowing that they still needed to be somewhat work appropriate, fully expecting her to pick something a little safer.

She did not.

She picked the most sparkly, most detailed set…

and then asked for more tinsel✨✨

Immediately yes. Do not threaten me with a good time.

I built out a color gradient of Dark Cyan, Amethyst (), and Midnight Blue (.supplies) through the mid and top layers, then stacked blue-green metallic tinsel “feathers” () along the top so the sparkle flashes through every angle.

Black lashes underneath kept everything from floating away and gave it that depth right at the base, and a little black holographic tinsel () sprinkled in for that subtle shimmer when the light hits.

The end result felt fun, dimensional, and most importantly, ✨magical✨

It was perfect for Disney, but honestly this kind of set works just as well for any trip, event, or time you want to switch it up a bit.

If you’ve ever thought about trying color, trips and events are the perfect excuse to ease into it.

Keeping the colors in deeper, jewel tones makes it feel more wearable, just with a little more personality.

Color doesn’t have to mean bright neon to make an impact.

She told me they were “better than I ever imagined” and sent me photos from her trip, which already made my day… but getting Kevin’s lash approval too? That’s a win🏆

Also, can we talk about the Kevin ears for a second because I’m still not over them!😍😍

Hybrid lashes are that sweet spot🍭

Full and dark enough that she skips mascara.

Soft and natural enough that people still ask, “are those yours?”

Yes. They are. She bought them.

That’s the goal every time.

We chose four shades of green to layer through the middle
Juniper → Green Shine → Matcha → Decode ()
so it melts from deep, rich green into a soft mint highlight.

To keep it from getting lost, I grounded everything with a black bottom layer, closest to the eye.

That contrast gives the greens something to sit on so they read richer, brighter, and way more dimensional, as well keeps the eye crisp and defined.

On top, laser printed anime spikes cut through the softness with graphic texture, adding contrast, structure, and just enough sharpness.

So now you’ve got soft + blended AND structured + graphic all in one set. This is why placement matters just as much as color choice.

Peek a Boo Peeps🍬🐰

Last year, when posted her bunny snoozing in the grass set, I thought it was THE CUTEST set I’d ever seen🤩 I was OBSESSED with recreating it.

Well, I did…and I HATED it😩

I was so disappointed in how it came out that I didn’t even post it. Looking back now, it honestly wasn’t that bad, it just didn’t match what I had envisioned.

But it was such an adorable idea, I couldn’t get them out of my head, so I knew I needed to try again this year.

This time, I wanted to take the same idea, but add a spin. Something hidden. Something you don’t fully notice right away. An “Easter egg” so to speak😏

When I saw Easter Bunny Peeps in the store, I immediately knew the direction I needed to go!

I created the bunny ears using all wavy lashes. The texture of the wave matched perfectly to the texture of the sugar-coated finish of the Peeps.

And because one peep and one color just wouldn’t do, I of course had to make a whole lash line of peep ears in a rainbow of colors.

For the grass, I wanted it to be like that sparkly Easter basket grass, so I mixed three shades of green and added strands of blue green metallic tinsel for a sparkly pop.

Now I know what you’re thinking, “Mallory, but how do we know these are Peeps and not just regular bunny ears?’

Welllll, that’s where the hidden detail comes in!

I placed tiny black “eyes” right at the base of the ears, close to the lash line, so you only catch them from certain angles.

From straight on the lashes just look like bunny ears

But shift slightly, catch the light, and suddenly you see them.

Little bunny peeps, tucked into the grass!

These are the kinds of details that make a set feel extra special, where there’s more to discover than what you see at first glance.

I absolutely LOVE how colorful, textural, and playful this set turned out!
