I didn’t meet Alyssa until today!! She trusted me enough just from what she saw on my page to fly me to Maine 😭 like WHAT?!
I sent her a makeup questionnaire before I arrived so I could have an idea of her overall style, but today was the first time I’m actually doing her makeup!
I knew from her answers and inspo photos that we were going to be two peas in a pod 👯♀️
Even though I felt confident she would like it, I was still anxious that I’d live up to the hype she might have had in her head 😅 It was a breath of relief after I handed her the mirror!
I can’t WAIT until tomorrow when I know it’s going to be # # # better!!

How incredible is it that Alyssa doesn’t live in my area, didn’t know me at all, and hired me purely based on my work when she had a million other options 😭
It goes to show that if you put in the work, keep showing up as YOU, and say yes to opportunities as they’re presented to you, you can have everything you’ve wanted.

I’ve had this same roller bag for about 10 years, and she’s still going strong 👏🏼 I hate carrying a kit, and she fits SO much! She’s just a random bag I found at TJ Maxx!

Do I edit my photos??
Actually yes 👀 Here are the things I adjust before posting:
- clearing any distracting items in the background
- sometimes I’ll blur the background slightly
- I’ll usually turn up the black-point to like 5ish
- sometimes I’ll add some warmth if I forgot to adjust my handheld light temperature
What I’m ❌ NOT doing is going in and adjusting any makeup or smoothing anything out!
These photos haven’t had any adjusting to them at all. If I end up posting a still photo of this look I probably will adjust some of the things I said below.

It’s been a long journey from 2013 to now 🏃♀️ Swipe to see how my artistry has become more refined over the years!

2014: This is my sister so I can say that. I took my first actual makeup class and thought I killed this smokey eye. I was ONLY doing airbrush and didn’t even offer traditional foundation application!
2015: I was basically painting by numbers and stayed very close to the techniques I learned in that class. I remember feeling good about this look and thought she looked so stunning!
I can see a lil baby makeup artist here!
2016: My blending started getting better! I was still using the same techniques from that previous class, but I started making it my own.
2017: I still love this look honestly. I was so proud of my matte eyeshadow blending which is SO MUCH harder than blending shimmers because there’s nowhere to hide!
2018: I can tell this year was when I started gaining more confidence and being more intentional about placement and details.
2019: Still love this look! I started really thinking about different skin finishes and focusing on that lot from within glow.
2019: I also started taking deeper skin tones more seriously. I took classes specifically for deeper skin, and I was really proud of this one!
2020: I can see a lot of my current style here! I’m still airbrushing here, but the soft glowy skin and slight smoke is still there!
2020: Doing my little sister’s makeup for her wedding was so special. I owed her for being my makeup model when I first started!
2021: This was the first year I started offering traditional foundation! I was bored and airbrush makeup just wasn’t doing it anymore. I dove into trying new techniques and pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
2021: I found a LOVE for traditional foundation and the richness it brought. This wedding I think put me on my path to where I am today 🫶🏼
2022: I’m still who I am though! This bronze eyeshadow look
