Mom of three?! I still can't get over it. 😍

Kayla came in for hair and makeup before a family photo session, and my goal was to create something polished, timeless, and camera-ready while still looking completely like herself.

To bring out her gorgeous hazel-green eyes, I used warm bronze and olive shadows that mimic her natural eye color. Soft definition, fluttery lashes, glowing skin, and lots of blush—cream, liquid, and powder layered together for that fresh, healthy flush that photographs beautifully.

For lips, I paired MAC Whirl lip pencil with NYX Butter Gloss for the perfect soft pinky-nude finish.

Family photos are one of those things you'll look back on for years, and a little professional hair and makeup can make such a difference in how confident you feel stepping in front of the camera.

And yes... this stunning woman is the mom of three. ❤️

So we softened the curl, refined the shape, and created glossy, touchable movement that still honored her natural richness and dimension. 👌

One of the hardest parts of doing makeup is knowing when to put the brush down. 🛑

It goes against our nature—we want to use all the skills and favorite products. But when a face is already beautifully balanced and proportioned, doing more can actually take away.

Paige is the perfect example of why restraint matters—and yes, it was hard.

She already has incredible bone structure, great skin, full brows and lips, big blue eyes, and a tiny, perfectly balanced nose. Her features are naturally harmonious, so the goal was never to add or exaggerate. No bigger lips. No stronger cheekbones. No louder eyes. 👀

The focus was simply to even out her skin tone and choose soft eye and cheek colors that brightened, refined, and polished what was already there.

Sometimes the best makeup knows when to step back and let the face do the talking. 😍

Makeup and hair styling is so much more than good technique. 🤗

Real life: Karen walked in for a makeup application after a very rough hair appointment—looking a little wild-eyed and wind swept. 💨

No shade to the young stylist; Karen wanted a look that just wasn’t right for her hair type, and honestly, it’s tough to tell a confident, strong woman no.

But this is where experience (and a pinch of sass) saves the day. Even on a tight timeline, I guided her in the right direction and explained that the style she originally wanted wasn’t very flattering.

Is that an easy conversation? Absolutely not. That’s where years of working with all kinds of personalities, plus a few well-timed jokes, make magic happen.

It doesn't matter that Karen hadn't booked me for hair (she had previously booked with other stylist) I rolled up my sleeves and got it done.

I don't like to rush, but the reality is hair and makeup time is often cut into by other factors out of our control. Working fast and good enough is very important.

I ended up styling her hair down with lifted roots to balance her face, and her makeup was soft and elegant. She left for her event looking beautiful, feeling confident, and most importantly—happy.
