Hey Blondies are you afraid of “Gold”
I promise you don’t have to be!

Allowing a little bit of gold to remain in the hair will allow more brightness.

Yep I said it! Gold=bright

Now I’m not talking crayola yellow but just a soft gold to help add reflection of other colors.

This helps other colors to help hold on to add more reflection and brightness.

Next time you want to be brighter don’t be afraid to leave a little bit of warmth 🌟

Let’s talk about your experience when you walk into a salon as a client for the first time.

Are you nervous? Excited? Scared?

It’s pretty common to experience these feelings when either walking into a new salon or meeting a new stylist for the first time, which is why when you come to me we have a consultation. Having a consultation helps you feel more at ease.

Just taking a little extra time to really sit down and get into detail to help my client feel comfortable is so important to me.

Would this help you feel more comfortable too? Let me know below!

Are you shampooing your hair properly?

Here’s my 5 step shampoo process..

1. First make sure you’re using salon quality shampoo and conditioner. If you’re unsure if you are, ask your stylist what is the best for your hair type.

2. Fully saturate your hair with water before getting any product. This is key to help make sure you aren’t over using any product.

3. Next get a quarter size amount of shampoo. Mix it in both of your hands then apply to both sides of your head. Making sure you’re only shampooing your scalp. *if you think need more shampoo try adding a little bit of water first*

4. Rinse throughly and ring out any water left.

5. Use a quarter size amount of conditioner and apply to your ends only. Leave that sit on your hair until the end of your shower. This will help allow it to get deeper into your cuticle.
*never apply conditioner to your scalp area. This will cause your hair to become oily and limp very quickly.

If you have any questions drop them in the comments below! I’d love to help you in any way! ☺️

Do you know what a shadow root is?

There’s so many different names when this comes to mind. Root tap, root melt, shadow root, whatever you or your stylist calls it.

A shadow root is to help blend and blur the harsh line of demarcation when your highlight grows out. The shadow root is matched to your natural color to help soften the grow out of the highlight or balayage.

I personally LOVE this technique because as a brunette that harsh line can be really bright when growing out, and I love a soft grow out.

If you’ve never tried this and want to let’s book it for your next appointment!

Let’s talk spray tans and your hair.🧡

We all want to be super tan now that the weather is getting warmer, however you have to be very careful with your hair and extensions.

The pigment, dihydroxyacetone, in the spray tan can discolor your extensions. This causes your extensions to become orange and can NOT be fixed no matter what.

It also can’t be removed from your own hair. So please when you go spray tanning to make sure all of your hair it up and far away from your spray tan. 😉

Just look at that dimension!

I’m fully obsessed with Kayla’s hair! We added lighter and brighter pieces to make a pop. Then we added some darker dimensional pieces to help blend her natural throughout her ends.

Are you going to the pool or beach soon? You definitely want to save this for later!

You’ll want to make sure that you get your hair wet with clean water first. By either spraying it with a spray bottle or simply getting it wet.

Next you’ll want to spray leave in conditioner or apply a small amount of regular conditioner in your hair.

Then braid it or put it in a low bun to protect your hair color and hair from the salt water or chlorine.

What this does, it causes a barrier on your hair. It allows your hair to not soak up the chlorine or salt water, so it doesn’t dry it out or turn it green.

This beautiful girl had never colored her hair before and she trusted me enough to let me do it!

With her being as naturally dark as she is we added a few caramel pieces to make her hair POP!

I love absolutely making women’s natural hair color stand out with blending such beautiful colors together 😍

Trust me, save this for later 😉
Have extensions and going to the pool? 🏖

Make sure that your extensions don’t get stuck in your suntan lotion, this causes your extensions to become discolored and no matter what it can NOT be removed from your extensions.
Make sure your hair is in a high pony and let the lotion dry before letting your hair done or just put your extensions in a low bun.

Do you know the difference??

Do you know the difference between drugstore shampoos and conditioners and professional (in salon) shampoos and conditioners??

I never knew till I studied it, then it all made sense.

One of the biggest differences in shampoo is ph.

Your hair is normally 5.5 ph which is acidity Most drug store shampoos are made with cheaper ingredients so the are alkaline based (detergent) their ph is anywhere from 7-9.

That is VERY drying. Can you imagine washing your hair with your dish detergent??? Same thing. It’s that harsh!

So can you imagine paying$100-$200 for a color service and using dish detergent? Not only does it dry out your hair, it also strips your color.

Plus these professional shampoos they sell at the grocery stores, drug stores and retail stores that don’t have a salon are not the real deal.

Yes that includes Target, Amazon, TJ Maxx, and any big box store! You absolutely don’t know what they have been through to get there, because they have passed through so many hands (and not the professionals). These products are old, watered down and in some cases have bacteria growing in them. Is it really worth the risk??

Now you might say, she just wants to sell her own products and YES that is true.

But also as a professional I have an obligation to my guests and that is to share ALL of my knowledge. I would not be doing you justice to keep secrets from you.

I am passionate about hair!!! I want what you have to be it’s absolute best! You deserve someone who is going to be transparent.

Now did you learn anything? Or did you already know this? Drop me a comment below if you learned something or not.

W O W... her before is unrecognizable! 👀

My guest had gotten her first balayage and it didn’t go as planned. Certain pieces of her hair weren’t lifted enough and some pieces were too bright.

I was able to help by adding a darker root and giving this such a better blend by toning it all down to help cover any unwanted warm tones.

If you’re struggling with finding balance in your color or just simply fed up I would love to help!

If you know me, you know I have an obsession with chocolate and baked goods 😬

I eat sweets every single day no matter what, I’m sure there’s a support group out there that I should attend but why would I ever want to stop.

What is your current addiction?

Just wow!

My guest Meighan last got her hair done in the end of 2019. She was ready for a chop and to go super blonde.

Of course going blonde can take multiple appointments, my first step is to never hurt your hair. I always want to make sure you heave the healthiest hair when you leave.

If you’re like Meighan and ready for a big change I would love to help!

I want to introduce my right hand lady!

This is Sammi, she’s a licensed stylist and my assistant. Most of you have already seen her but I would like to formally introduce her.

She’s working hard to build her own clientele while helping me and my own clientele. She’s absolutely amazing with everything she does.

She has a cute little weenie pup name Oscar, weirdly obsessed with spaghetti o’s, and loves chocolate milk. I’m not sure where she came from but she’s pretty much my best friend lol.

Do you have hard water or well water?

Having either one definitely takes a toll on your hair, especially being blonde. When you’re blonde your cuticle is already pretty open, what this means is minerals and other pollutants can wedge themselves into your cuticle.

The problem, makes the hair look extra warm, dries out the hair, and is difficult to remove. I always recommend a in salon treatment and a filter that attaches to your shower head to help. Unless you have a whole house softener there’s only so much you can do.
