This girl missed me yesterday.
She’s been my rock for the last 10 years. I went back to work yesterday for the first time in 7 weeks and she wouldn’t leave my side when I got home.
We talk about everything. I tell her what’s going on, what my schedule will be like, how she needs to look after her little sister, and she always listens.
There’s nothing better in this world then when I get to see her each and every day. I love how she lets me hug her. She will forever be a mommas girl. ❤️
Does anyone else feel like they are actually getting pretty used to being at home?
I know for myself that it’s starting to feel more and more normal! My pups and I even have a routine that we’ve stuck to pretty consistently.
One thing I thought I wouldn’t get used to when this started was what am I going to do to keep busy, but now it’s something I don’t even think about.
What is one thing that you thought you wouldn’t get used to that is now not that big of a deal? Let me know in the comments below!
Distance makes the heart grow fonder, am I right?
To my clients, I miss you all so much!
What is one thing you will look forward to when we can open the doors to the salon again?
I know I’m looking forward to asking how your day is and simply seeing you! Tell me what you’re looking forward to in the comments!
Happy Mother’s Day! 🌸
These two right here, mean everything to me. The bond we share is like no other. I’m so very thankful they raised me to be the strong, independent woman I am today. I couldn’t thank them enough for what they’ve done.
I hope you all share Mother’s Day with someone special!
Discussing common issues you have with your hair.
Social distancing update -- Which is more true for you:
a.) Not to brag but all of the sudden I’m a Michelin star chef! I had no idea how much you could do with beets before now.
b.) This whole thing has really made me master my downward dog.
c.) I’m on my 5th book!
d.) Is there anything else to binge watch?
e.) My dog thought all these hugs were cute at first but I think he’s getting a little concerned this is his life now.
May the fourth be with you!
Let’s be real, you know I had to say it 😂
On another note, I’m missing this guy and missing Disney. I can’t wait until he’s home and we can go back to the most wonderful place on earth!
If you’ve been to Disney what’s your best memory?
When it comes to hair products, what makes you pick one product over another?
I know all of the benefits when it comes to the product as your stylist, but as a client I’m curious!
Which client are you when it comes to your product purchases:
A.) I choose the one that smells the best
B.) I choose the cutest packaging that goes with my shower decor
C.) I love learning about the products my stylist teaches me about and I think whatever she suggests benefits my hair
D.) All of the above
I have to admit..
All this non essential talk has got my ego hurting a little bit.
So since today is #hairdresserappreciationday I wanted to make a little post so tell my fellow stylists my thoughts on how essential our industry is.
You are essential to those who have no one at home who they can be vulnerable with, so they come in to talk to you.
You are essential to the new mom who you reassure this chapter won’t last forever, no matter how long it might feel.
You are essential through the stages of childhood, from toddler to tweens to teen, who you care so deeply for and are just as excited and sad when they leave for college.
You are essential to the each family member who you see after a death and console through fear and sorrow.
In weddings, proms, births, deaths, divorce. We laugh, cry, listen, and advise.. You are essential because these customers confide their lives to you and sometimes only you 😢.
You ARE essential! And you can bet you are missed not just for a service... I know, we miss all of our now long life friends that they’ve become ... ❤️
And all the other strong bad ass men and women in this amazing industry
The strong will survive and come back stronger than ever.
Love you all!
Tag your favorite hairstylist to show them some love! ❤️
You might not be able to come into the salon and get your hair toned, but that doesn’t mean you can’t maintain your blonde at home!
If you don’t have a good purple shampoo, the one I recommend is Amika’s Bust Your Brass. It’s great because it’s moisturizing and repairing.
You can get that purple shampoo my DM-ing me and I can drop it off curbside for free or ship it directly to you!

Who’s ever curled their hair?
I’m sure all of you raised your hand. But I’m sure most of us have the wrong size barrel and don’t know it.
If your curls aren’t staying for more than a few hours, or it goes straight right away, or it just doesn’t look right.
My guests tell me they want that perfect beach wave. I tell them over and over you’re using too big of a barrel. You must use a smaller barrel to achieve those looks.
I recommend nothing bigger than 1”-1.25” anything bigger and it simply won’t work.
For my own beach waves I curl my hair with a 3/4” curling iron. Yes I know that’s small but it works perfectly!
If you’re having issues curling your hair, drop a comment below and I’ll be sure to help!
Happy Earth Day!
Since we are all stuck at home, who’s going outside to plant? Or even staying inside? 🖐🏻
I’ll be in my back yard today starting on a new project and I can’t wait. It’s definitely going to be awhile before it’s finished but it’ll make the yard look so much better.
Show me pictures of what you’ll be doing today! 🌏
Rainy days are for baking 😋
Now that we have a little extra time at home I have started baking again.
Confession: I have been missing my grandma like crazy! We used to bake all the time together, plus I’ve been wanting to make this for a little while now.
What have you been baking/cooking at home? Let’s share our new favorite recipe in the comments so we can all try something new 🤗

Quarantine hair update: Which is more true for you?
a.) I will not cut my bangs. I will not cut my bangs. I WILL NOT cut my bangs...but really...someone take the scissors (p.s. DON’T cut your bangs)
b.) Good thing I don’t need to be anywhere, these roots are out of control.
c.) I just ordered three hats online. If I rotate them enough maybe no one will notice I’ve not changed my shirt in 4 days.
d.) How the heck does my balayage look THIS good still after two months! My stylist is a genius.
e.) Other (tell me your quarantine hair situation
Since I haven’t been at the salon I’ve been busy at work redoing our front yard.
As much as I love being behind the chair and making content for my social media. I love taking a break and enjoying some work around the house.

Happy National Pet Day!
These two make everything so much better. I think they’ve loved having me home these last few weeks, we just wish we could have dad here too. Today will be celebrated with puppy ice cream and lots of belly rubs.

How are you?
I want to know, are you struggling, are you nervous, high anxiety, stressed, or overwhelmed?
If you’ve answered yes to one or all of these, I want you to know it’s ok. You are allowed to feel how you’re feeling right now. Everyone is still the exact same.
I do want you to know I’m here, if you need a good cry, someone to listen, or just want to talk to a friendly human, I’m here for you! If there’s anything I can help, please reach out! I hope you enjoy this beautiful sunshine filled day. ☺️
Bubble braids are super easy and super cute for anyone! Highly recommend doing these on those days when you don't want to wash your hair!
I don’t know about you, but I’ve literally been wearing the same shirt for three days, however, I keep putting my hair up in some sort of style whether it’s curls or a messy updo (it’s all about balance, ya know) ☺️
I’ve been taking this time to practice looks that I otherwise it may not have tried before.
What styles, if any, have you tried?

On a scale from 1-10, how excited are you about getting that head massage at the shampoo bowl?
I feel like with all this social distancing, once we are able to actually receive some contact with other humans, things like head massages or things that we loved before are going to feel so much better!

Calling all stay-at-home workers...
Wait that’s all of us, right? Can I show you a peek at my current work station?
Just look at this “office“ for the day. As a hairstylist, I’m making the most of this space and doing my best to see the creativity in it all.

Today I finally broke down,
I’ve never truly admitted it but I did. I’m numb to what’s happening right now. I was hit with you’re shutting down and don’t know when to reopen. I’m writing this as raw as I feel right now. I’ve officially shut my door a week ago and it feels so weird. I truly miss doing hair, it’s my passion, my lively hood, I’ve never done anything else.
I’ve made my meals just like everyone else trying to come up with something I haven’t done 2 or 3 days in a row.
I know I don’t have kids but having your husband be deployed is so mentally and physically hard. I’m here with my amazing pups but it’s incredibly hard being alone. Not talking to anyone or physically giving someone a hug is just incredibly hard. What’s even harder is not having family around just even to drive by their home. I know that one day soon this will all be over and I’ll be giving all of my friends and family the biggest and tightest hug they’ve ever felt.
But I just wanted you to know I’m in this same boat with you, of course 6 feet apart.
So that’s it, I’m here with you, giving it all I’ve got.
Balayage+shadow root+fresh cut= true love!♥️
The best part is that this color will grow out flawlessly and this beauty won’t have to lighten her ends for 7 months if she likes that rootier look.
I recommend her coming in and getting my famous “tone and treat” for those in between services.
Looking for a low maintenance blonde? I’ve got you covered.😉
I want to share the positivity!
What have you done during this time?
I will share what I've done in the comments below.
How can you help?
With a heavy heart I have to close my doors for 30 days. I know this is a hard time for all but it will fly by quickly. Thankfully I have amazing clients who are amazing and have checked in on my during this crazy time and I thank you so much for that!

I love that he did his own tutorial! I wish he could come hangout so I can play with his hair.
Jason Momoa Scrunchie Challenge 🥰🥰
Something bout him just makes me feel good inside.
You’re about to handle this Friday like a boss.
Start today off with a deep conditioning mask, a nice facial, and a warm delicious cup of coffee.
I love using my Amika soul food deep conditioner once a week, it leaves my hair feeling healthy, moisturized, and even silky.
So why not start your day with that? If you haven’t tried it, it’s a must have in my shower!
Okay confession time. Have you ever dreamed of trying copper?
On Mary I used a semi-permanent glaze that will fade out slowly over 6-8 weeks bringing her back to a lighter shade of blonde.
She can choose to try it again at her next visit or ditch it and try something more vibrant red tones.
The freedom and flexibility of a glaze can make playing with change fun and completely commitment free.
What a difference a little wave makes.
Just that little bit of a soft curl adds dimension, movement, and tons of volume.
If you’re feeling bored with your hair, sometimes it’s not a new cut or color you need, it’s just sometimes a new style.
If you’re feeling bored with the style you’ve got going on, come on in and let’s play with style!
