I always do this…
I text my bride like,
‘Okay when you have a minute—send me your sneak peeks!!’ 👀✨
She sends the gallery… and I’m over here scrolling through it like it’s my wedding day 😂
And without fail, I find the photo.
The one where I’m like—
‘oh my gosh… are you kidding me… THIS is it 🤍’
So I send it to her…
And she goes,
‘That’s my favorite photo of myself too.’
🥹
And honestly… that’s always the goal.
Yes, you want to look amazing together.
But you also deserve to look at a photo of yourself and think—
‘I felt so beautiful that day.’ ✨

Hey it’s me 👋🏼 your bridal hair + makeup artist… casually stepping into commercial + branding work in the “fly over” land of California 👀
This year things have been shifting.
I didn’t just want to stay in one lane. I wanted to expand into branding, editorial, and on-set work…
And this week??
I booked TWO jobs that are exactly that.
One for a premium boot brand (like… the kind you know)
And one for a well-known TV network 😅
Both right here in Central California… which makes it feel even more surreal.
If I’m being honest—it still feels like I’m going to show up and someone’s going to be like…
‘Hi, wrong person’ 😂
So… check back in with me next week to confirm:
✨ thriving on set
or
✨ fully bamboozled
Either way, we’re expanding over here and I’m here for it 🤍

I’m a self-taught artist. 🎨🖌️
I didn’t go to cosmetology school… and for a long time, I questioned if that meant I wasn’t qualified enough.
Would people take me seriously?
Would brides even book me?
Was I missing something everyone else had?
That doubt was real in the beginning.
But after 18 years in bridal, here’s what I know now—
Clients aren’t booking you for your license.
They’re booking you for your work.
Your skill.
Your consistency.
The way you make them feel in your chair.
That’s what builds trust.
That’s what builds a business.
If I could go back, I’d spend less time questioning if I was “qualified”…
and more time getting really, really good at my craft.
Tell me something that has made you doubt yourself in this industry!? 👇

If you’re a bride getting ready for your makeup trial and thinking…
“I have no idea what I’m doing.”
“What if I don’t like it?”
“I’ve never been here before.”
Take a deep breath. 🤍
You’re not supposed to know what to do — that’s why you hire a professional.
I’ve worked with so many brides, and almost every single one walks into her trial feeling a little unsure. This season of engagement is full of decisions, opinions, Pinterest boards, and pressure. Your trial shouldn’t feel like another overwhelming appointment on the checklist.
It should feel like a safe place to figure out what makes you feel beautiful.
That’s why I always share a few simple things with every bride before her trial — not to add pressure, but to remove it. To help you feel prepared, confident, and supported walking in.
Here are the three things I tell every bride:
✨ 1. Come with inspiration — but don’t feel married to it.
Bring photos of looks you’re drawn to. It helps me see your vision. But remember, what works for one face may need adjusting for yours. We tailor it to you.
✨ 2. Prep your skin, but keep it simple.
Hydrated, clean skin is your best starting point. No new facials, no last-minute product experiments — your trial isn’t the time for surprises.
✨ 3. Be honest about how you want to feel.
Soft and natural? Glam and dramatic? Somewhere in between? The goal isn’t just how you look — it’s how you feel when you see yourself in the mirror.
And here’s the part I care about most:
This is a joyful season. Your trial is a sneak peek at the moment you’ll walk down the aisle. It’s okay to experiment. It’s okay to not have all the words. It’s okay to say, “I’m not sure yet.”
We’ll figure it out together. 🤍
PS. Don’t forget to have fun. This is your once-in-a-lifetime season — you deserve to enjoy it.

I missed my son’s first T-ball game of the season.
Not because I didn’t want to be there.
But because I was booked for a wedding.
As a bridal hair and makeup artist, I’ve always known weddings happen on weekends. I’ve been in this industry for 18 years. Saturday work isn’t new to me.
What is newer… is having kids with Saturday morning sports.
My busiest wedding seasons line up almost perfectly with baseball season, soccer season, all the seasons. And over the years there have been birthday parties, showers, games, and little moments I couldn’t attend because I had already committed to serving a bride.
The internet can make this job look glamorous — and it truly is beautiful work. I love what I do. I love the women I serve.
But there are sacrifices that don’t make it into the highlight reel.
And here’s what I’m learning:
There is no perfect job for a working mom.
No matter what path you choose, there is going to be something that costs you.
Corporate job? You miss daytime events.
Entrepreneur? You work nights and weekends.
Stay-at-home mom? You sacrifice income and sometimes pieces of professional identity.
There isn’t a version that comes without tension.
This morning was one of those hard moments. I love my job. But I love my kids more. And sometimes those loves sit in a place that stretches me.
For our family, in this season, this is what works.
But I’m also actively building alternative streams of income — because I don’t want to miss every Saturday morning game forever.
Not from a place of regret.
Not from a place of guilt.
But from a place of vision.
If you’re a working mom feeling that tension too… you’re not alone.
What’s a sacrifice behind your career that people don’t always see?
