It’s officially herb harvesting season 🌿🌼

My lemon balm and oregano needed major hair cuts already. The yarrow is starting to bloom along with some calendula flowers and chamomile making an appearance. There’s something about taking an evening garden stroll and picking pretty flowers that just makes life feel a little more magical ✨

I’ve been working really hard on my garden this spring and I’m feeling pretty good about it! Here’s to bountiful growth and staying on top of harvesting 💕

Haven’t posted in a bit because I’ve been super busy getting my herb garden prepped and planted the last two weeks! 👩‍🌾

Today I got to stop and smell the roses👃🌹

It’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of this busy season. But slowing down to notice the plants around me and appreciate them just hits me right in the good part of my soul 😌

These wild roses smell absolutely intoxicating! They are in my top 2 favorite scents in the wild, next to elderflower 🩷🤍

After harvesting the beautiful, dainty petals, I’ll be making up more rose hydrosol for my Hydrating Facial Spray and drying the rest for use in my Facial Cream. These roses lend a faint floral scent to both products and give you the most luxurious experience while doing your facial skin care routine 🧖‍♀️

I tediously pick every flower and leaf, take weeks slowly drying them, and hours processing them by hand. One of my favorite things about working with herbs is constantly learning, growing, and crafting in new ways! 🌿

I’ve worked with Purple Dead Nettle for many years, but this year I was inspired to create something different! This herb is well know for its ability to soothe and heal wounds. It was commonly used in field medicine as a poultice to stop bleeding because it acts as a vasoconstrictor, helping blood vessels contract to slow bleeding and reduce clotting time. Its anti-inflammatory effects make it ideal for treating swelling, redness, and pain. With antimicrobial properties, it also works to combat infections.

I’ve had an idea in my head for the last year or so to create some herbal first aid remedies. Today I finally formulated two new products using Dead Purple Nettle and many other healing herbs. Can’t wait to share more about these when they are ready! 🙌🏻

God gives us so many amazing things in nature to help support our health and wellness. Here are some more of my favorite plant allies to utilize during the Spring- Stinging Nettle and Purple Dead Nettle 💚💜

Though they come from different plant families, they do share similar names and beneficial properties. Both plants are known as being natural antihistamines and anti-inflammatories, so they are great at helping the body to combat allergic and histamine type reactions. From seasonal allergies, to acute local allergic reactions like bee stings, we reach for these herbs!

These are the main herbs in our Anti-inflammatory and Antihistamine Glycerite, but last year I created a more in depth Allergy Relief Glycerite to better target allergies. It also includes Goldenrod, which has anti-inflammatory, antihistamine, and astringent properties that can help dry up congestion. I also included Mullein for its ability to help loosen mucus and move it out of the lungs.

We received many good reviews about this product product last fall and I’m excited to be able to offer it this Spring!

I’ve been busy the last couple days picking Violets and Dandelions 💜💛

One of my favorite times of the year are when they are both in peak bloom 😍

Aside from being pretty, did you know how truly amazing these little “weeds” are? Both of these plants contain properties that can help our detoxification pathways function more optimally. Specifically, our lymphatic system and liver. After a long period of cold and stagnation in the winter, our bodies typically need some support. Moving our bodies, getting out in the sunshine, and spending time in nature are all great ways to help get our immune systems rebooted so to speak. But herbs are also a great ally to help us move things along! Violets and Dandelions are some of the first plants God gives us during the Spring and for good reason.
