From the original 1916 tile floor to the architect who designed the building, the clay beneath our feet, and the sunshine that fills Tower Grove, each polish is inspired by a piece of St. Louis.

OTTO 🌿
Meet Otto J. Wilhelmi, the architect who designed the Urban Matter building in 1916.
Wilhelmi helped shape St. Louis through schools, homes, churches, and commercial buildings that are still standing today. Naming this shade after him felt like the perfect way to honor the history of the space.
Otto is a soft green matte creme, inspired by the lush plants and creative energy that now fill the building he designed more than a century ago.

One of my favorite details inside Urban Matter is the original blue-and-white hex tile floor.
Installed when the building was completed in 1916, it’s still there today, welcoming everyone who walks through the door.
1916 is a white crelly filled with light blue, periwinkle, and sapphire blue hex glitters, inspired by those beautiful historic tiles.

STL CLAY 🤎
St. Louis was built where the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers meet, and with those rivers came rich clay soil that helped shape the city we know today.
From our famous brick buildings to local pottery studios, clay has always been part of St. Louis’ story.
STL Clay is a warm earthy matte creme, inspired by the color and texture of the clay beneath our feet.
