Good morning, we have experienced some leaks in the water pipes from the freeze last week. We have had plumbers working so hard over the past weekend repairing them. I will going up to the shop today to check everything is working and repaired and give an update this after noon. Thank you.

Cindy came in and wanted a change.
**UPDATE** Today gGov Abbott said salons will not be able to open until phase 2, which is middle of May. I will be calling and texting those that have called or taxed to be put on the list. I’m ready to start back to work. Can’t wait to see all my clients. Thank you all for being supportive.
I miss working and my clients!!!!!❤️❤️❤️
When Governor Abbott mandated that all salons close due to COVID-19, salons were mandated to close and staff is NOT do hair-at all. We take pride in the fact that we follow the laws of the Texas State Board of Cosmetology. With that mandate, we are licensed professionals and can loose our license for doing hair-in the salon, at our homes, or at your home during this time. The stylist/barber can loose their license, be fined, and up to 1 year jail time. The salon can loose it’s license as well.
Why did the Governor mandate us to close?
Because he is protecting the public and the cosmetologists/barbers. Trump requested that we all follow the 6ft social distancing rule. In our job, we are touching you and we are feet away from you, sometimes 6”, and sometimes in your face.
So for EXAMPLE
I feel good but i am a carrier of COVID-19, and i go to 8 of my clients houses today, then i have passed it to 8 entire households. Then those 8 households spread the virus.
Or if i go to your house and you are a carrier, then i get it and bring it home to myself, my kids, and my town.
If i do hair out of my home and one of you carries the virus, then my home is exposed and all the clients i see before i show any symptoms.
It is the bootlegging salons and business that will continue to spread this...remember that.
We hate that we can’t do your hair at this time. We hate having to tell people “no”-when we absolutely adore all of our clients.
But WE LOVE YOU ENOUGH TO FOLLOW THE MANDATE and keep us all safe. We are loyal to you and we pray you stay loyal to us.
Whether you come to us or someone else for hair services, please be considerate. The less this spreads the sooner the salons will open back up.
We miss you all and can’t wait to get back to work!!
To all my clients, here is quick update on things at Vanity A'ffair Salon and your upcoming appointments. At this end of the day today we will be closed. When the mayor lets up know its safe to open the shop to the public we will do so. Any of the salons that do not comply with this shut down, could be fined and or license suspended. I can not remain open during this time. I will be contacting you in the next couple of days. I will do this on a week by week scenario. Thank you all for your support and patience and for understanding in the next several weeks to come.
Rosie
I am still taking appointments and will continue to do so until the government shuts us down too. 😳I see some states have already started. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that here in Texas.
This is what I am doing to keep you safe. I will use clean capes & smocks on everyone. I will clean my work space, shampoo area & chairs & waiting area with hospital grade disinfectant between guests. If the waiting area becomes crowded, I will come to collect you at your vehicle when I’m ready for you. If you’re unsure about your allergies I will be sure we are alone. I will ask you not to bring young children because they touch everything & may come when life is a safer place for them. And... if you are sick or unsure of your own health I am happy to reschedule you. Thank you for your loyalty & support.
