What you need to know to protect your scalp & hair from protective styles.

Braids are very convenient protective hairstyle, but often time can do more damage to hair that is in distress.

*The chemical that is used to process the nylon fibers can cause irritation to sensitive scalp causing a reaction that can result in unhealthy scalp causing unhealthy hair growth or the lack there of.

*The chemical in synthetic braiding hair can cause excessive dryness to already low porosity hair that will result in severe breakage.

*Getting braids occasionally is fine if they are done properly, making sure that there isn’t extreme tension especially near the perimeter of your head (edges).

*Having extension braids back to back can be very damaging.

*Ever wondered why your hair will not keep a curl style after you take out braids?
It is because the hair that was already weak has been made weaker, not stronger.

The Biggest Myth 🤦🏽‍♀️
“Braids makes your hair grow”
You may think they made your hair grow but, the reality is, Healthy Hair grows 1/8 of an inch weekly without braids.

When the follicles are getting the proper nutrients, hair will grow stronger, longer & lustrous.

If you choose to wear braids,
*Make sure that you receive reconstructive treatments before & after put in & takeout.
*Use BEYOND ROOTS GROWTH SERUM on your scalp weekly while wearing braids.
*Avoid putting the braids in tight updo styles because it
*🙅🏽‍♀️Do Not wear the same braids longer than 4-6 weeks 👉🏽Even If They Still Look Good.

Oh Yeah,
Let me add, it is Very Very important that you properly detangle your or your child’s hair when removing braids before arriving to your salon session, this includes the gummy product buildup that is left after the braid has been removed.
Failure to do so will result in a detangling fee for the stylist to detangle the hair.
Or
Your stylist may reschedule your appointment, because the possible 1/2 hour that it takes the stylist to carefully detangle was not factored into the stylist and can possibly throw the stylist schedule way off.
