Maryland Lash License Update 📝

Today in the Board meeting they reviewed more draft language for the Eyelash Extension Technician License.

Key points from what was shown on screen:

• Temporary lash tech license will only be issued once per person
• Temporary license term = 1 year
• Fee shown = $11
• Temporary license can be renewed only 1 more time — AND only if you show good cause (example: enrolled in an approved lash program)
• Temporary license applicants are exempt from the exam requirement during the temporary period

This is still PROPOSED language, but this shows Maryland is actively moving forward in the licensing process.

The biggest takeaway → being enrolled in an approved program WILL matter when it’s time to renew.
